My wife, and go here all the time fine ding at its best. We go for our birthdays holidays. We never had a bad meal. It's always been scrumptious doing the holidays. They have a limited menu. They have a set price so before you go for a holiday check the menu the wine list is not that long, but I always found it to be satisfied with what I get I would say they are a superb definitely try them out. I don't think you will be disappointed the building used to be an Inn. For weary travelers that traveled the old Erie Canal the restaurant is decorated as such. They have outside seating during nice weather. If it gets cool, they turn on the outside heaters just be aware nothing is perfect. Your warm on top cold on the bottom just dress accordingly. It is a lovely spot. Very friendly my wife and I have gone there for about 20 years.

Cozy, comfortable dining areas with very good food but sometimes not always "great" meals. Somewhat eclectic set menu. Fantastic outdoor dining location by the canal in the summer months!

We reserved a table for a anniversary dinner. When we arrived, a woman at the bar in the back, waved us to come down there. We walked down and I told her we had a reservation for dinner and I wished to be seated in the front rooms. She said no! You have to sit down here at the bar, I reiterated that it was our anniversary and I did not want to be by the bar.! But it was that or nothing. If I had known I would have made other plans. Our dinners were ok, nothing like when Vivienne owned it. Our bill was $91.00. Overpriced and not special Mrs. James Marra 16 Austin rd Fairport ny 14450

Fun history to learn about this place, great service, friendly staff, delicious food, neat cocktails and the bartender made a perfect mocktail for me and cozy atmosphere! Plus, they added a candle on my mom's dessert for her birthday!

Right after I moved to Rochester, my mom came to visit and wanted to have a nice dinner. One of my coworkers recommended Richardson's. I am so glad they did! The restaurant is so cozy! The service was unparalleled, and the food and drinks were amazing! My mom's boyfriend raved about the fish of the day, and my mom really enjoyed the seafood she had as well. I had the confit duck legs and WOW. Amazing all around. The desserts were fantastic too! I had fresh sorbet and was so happy! I can't wait to return and try more! I want to go in the summer so I can see the canal. It was dark when I was there!

We decided to go to one of our favorite restaurants in summer on patio for a holiday dinner in the historic tavern / hotel. Surprisingly, I was able to get a reservation @ 6:00 pm one day in advance of Friday reservation! We arrived about 5 minutes prior to 6:00 and were seated in the cozy main dining area by a gracious hostess. Our waitress was Linda, she greeted us and put us at ease, took our drink order, offering us suggestions about ordering one of our favorite cocktails. She did not rush us as we enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere. When we were ready to order dinner (not being rushed), she took order for bolognese and it was promptly served... delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed our quiet and relaxing evening @ Richardson's! As we left, we noticed the there was additional seating in the decorated room closer to the entrance for diners. Apparently, Covid years have changed, folks have not ventured out during the holiday season to enjoy Richardson's, I encourage you to go there for pleasurable dining evening!
Our favorite restaurant in the world. My wife and I have eaten here every year on our anniversary since 1986. I can honestly say I have never had anything but a great meal each time we go. The service is outstanding of course! The ambiance is, well, what can I say? It feels like home when we're here...

What a great experience! My mom and her boyfriend came to visit my wife and me, and we were recommended to this restaurant by someone who's lived in the area much longer than the month we've been here. The food was out of this world! My wife enjoyed the scallops, my mom loved the seafood gumbo, her boyfriend raved about the catch of the day which I believe was halibut, and I couldn't get enough of the confitted duck legs! The homemade ice cream and sorbet - also completely amazing. We could not have asked for a better meal. The drinks were also quite tasty! The service was incredible as well. And the atmosphere was so cozy. I can't wait to return!
