Born & raised Catholic, but I think I just converted to WUNDERBAR!I’ve had a million B. E. C. sammys, but this one was somehow like no other! Like -I just got off being stranded on a deserted island -kind of good! I wasn’t even hungry when I had it. Wow! Food magic!
Old school German deli in the heart of Port Jefferson over stuffed sandwiches. At least a half a pound of bacon on an egg sandwich at reasonable prices. If you like German food, this is the place to be. The staff is outstanding. Owner even works there on the grill

Stopped there late this afternoon just before closing but we had not realized how late it was (4:48 and they close at 5 pm on Saturdays). I worked at a deli as a teenager and when I saw the time, I apologized for the late offer and offered to leave. He insisted on waiting on us and even packed a soup for my MIL. A gracious gentleman and the sandwiches (as always from Wonderbar) were great. We now live in SC and this great deli reminded us of what we are missing down south.Kudos...read full review
