“What a great hidden gem! The food is great and extremely fresh seafood! The ceviche mixto was flavorful and great portion to share. The highlight of the meal was the dessert, homemade ice cream that was creamy and unique! Will definitely go back!!“
“When I found out this family business is co-owned by a fellow Queens College Alum, I had to come!!! It's so inviting and the hostess (sister) was more than accommodating. We were seated quickly and we were able to see the menu both print and via QR Code. We (my husband and I) loved the drink we had as well as the Aji Galina and Arroz Chaufa con Pollo. Extra sauces and a small corn based appetizer was given right away as well. I also appreciated the clean bathroom, which has a urinal and normal toilet, also ADA/wheelchair friendly. The music was excellent too. The fact that this is also family friendly is the ultimate selling point. There's something on the menu for everyone. I will definitely come back with my in laws! This is the freshest, best Peruvian in NYS!!! I WISH YOU ALL THE SUCCESS AND DECADES IN BUSINESS!“
“The food was so delicious. Flavorful and nice portions. I had the lamb special and it was perfectly tender. The ceviche was tangy with just the right amount of spice. What made it even better was the service and homey atmosphere. The chef/owner chatted with us too which always makes me feel good about a restaurant. We'll definitely be back and bring family to try it out.Parking: There's some street parking and also two municipal lots within two minutes' walk.“
“We recently had a party catered by Latusion and it was a huge hit with our family and friends. Fabian and his wife were amazing to work with. They were very accommodating with the dietary restrictions (gluten free options). We loved their empanadas, loaded tostones and lomo saltado. Highly recommend them, whether you’re in the area for a bite to eat or looking for a caterer for your next event!“
“I arrived after a long time at this place and it really surprised me... Everything was very delicious... the grilled chicken was delicious... the ceviche was very fresh and delicious... the chaufa mixed rice was good... the chanfainita was good... the desserts were very rich and the service was excellent…thanks to Lesly who treated us very well…highly recommended“
“THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! The service is perfection with a smile, the music is incredible on the weekends, the food is Devine! I am obsessed!! I love this place so much! We celebrated my mother’s 65 bday her and it was spectacular!! This is a must go!!“
“Aesthetically appealing on arrival. When we first arrived there was no hostess and we stood around for about 5 minutes before we had to flag down someone to seat us but, once seating the food came fairly fast and and servers were more attentive. Food is decent pretty much the same across all of your establishment. The green sauce is always a hit. Also had the chicken empanadas and for some reason they have olives In them ? first time for everything I guess but I’ll stay away from the empanadas from now on.“
“Wow, I enjoyed this menu. Great Latin dishes like classic carne asada, ceviche, empanadas, cheese bread, arroz con camarones, lots of seafood, yummy yucca fries, a variety of home made fish stews and soups. Daily lunch specials make this place a great value. Table service or bar seating available. Every server was friendly and hospitable. Totally will return, especially for the lomo saltado de carne y pollo. And the tres leches dessert!“
“Best Peruvian food in Long Island!! When craving peruvian food i don’t mind taking 45min ride just to get there, because is worth it! Its so hard to find the exact essence of peruvian cuisine and this restaurant knows how to do it. Meet this place back on 2020 and every time I go they exceed my expectations, polite, friendly and respectful. Food is the best!! Cabrito & anticuchos con rachi my favorite!!“
“I have been going to Quenas since they first opened 13 years ago. Every meal has been perfect and the service is exceptional. I’m looking forward to many more years of enjoying Quenas; the best family run Peruvian restaurant in Westchester.“
“Love this Peruvian restaurant. Had Lunch with family & friends after some massages, the restaurant was nicely decorated & the staff super friendly. The bar area was nice & there was a big screen TV with a little stage for singing or if they have an event I guess. Some of the staff spoke English but the majority spoke Spanish. The food was amazing! We had drinks, appetizers, main courses & even dessert. The portions were generous & everything was very tasty. I would definitely be back! Read the menu as there is a 4% up charge on credit card versus paying cash! Also gratuity is included in the bill.Kid-friendliness: They had lots of kid friendly dishes“
“Great service! We enjoyed our dinner. It was my first time having beef heart and it was quite delicious. The chicken -pollo a la brasa is always amazing and so well seasoned. The skirt steak was good but I felt the portion of the steak could've been a tad bigger. The taxi tacu rice was yummy! Overall it was a satisfying dinner. We had their ice cream and it was unique flavors...I would recommend that you try it.“
“The Portobello Saltado was excellent. So was the Margarita. The waiter was great. A few issues. The Portobello Saltado is on their online menu. It’s not on their restaurant menu. I was told sometimes they don’t have portobellos. Ordered the avocado salad. They don’t have avocados. Ordered two mojitos. Out of mint.Vegetarian options: Portobello Saltado was excellent.“
“If you're looking for a vibrant taste of Peru, look no further than La Candella II. The ambiance is electric, with plenty of seating to accommodate groups of all sizes. Weekends come alive with live music, adding an extra layer of entertainment to your dining experience. Flavorful dishes and wide selection of drinks.“
“It is a very small place with 3 tables to accommodate like 12 people. The food is excellent. A lot of people take out. The portions are very big. The lunch specials they charge $15, which includes a large, tasty soup, salad, potatoes with cream, rice, and meat. I had the fried chicken. Go, give it a go!Parking: It's the strip mall parking in Staples complex.“
“Being a peruvian giving four stars is a huge deal for me. Especially considering I love cooking peruvian myself. I'd recommend their Lomo saltado a Peruvian must and their Arroz chaufa. Definitely get one of the Bundles if you're coming with a large party. Their aji is a bit lacking and they've raised their prices quite a bit over the years which is understandable but at the same time their service should reflect it to an extent. I work in the service industry and would expect better service basics. IE. More menu knowledge and friendlier service as well as water refills. With that being said I'd still recommend and enjoyed it having ordered out and dined in dozens of times.Vegetarian options: Salads your usual.Parking: It's right on queens blvd so parking is trickyKid-friendliness: Defintely kid friendly fries chicken not too complex“
“Ok this is my second time coming here and this place is legit. The one star reviews seem like very entitled opinions. Sometimes living in America it's like we forget to check our unrealistic realities at the door. There's not really parking they do have mini lot around the corner in the back but it's not much. Keep that in mind when coming here. This food is authentic and good. Point blank period. This place is very mom and pop, it's not fine dining it's like a family environment. Don't get me wrong I can understand the frustrations people have when they place orders etc. however this goes back to my aforementioned...entitled. The food was good, really flavorful I had : Camaroneros Al Ajillo - overall the sauce was made well and was seasoned well, very light hint of spice nothing to worry about. Slices of garlic which I enjoyed. Good for the soul and immune system. But if it's not something you like don't order. It came with yuca in which paired really well with the plate. The rice goes with the dish and again I enjoyed it. The shrimp were cooked well, not over or under. It was a comfort meal that landed well. I didn't feel tired or greasy when I left. I didn't feel nasty after eating it. Again people compare we all do, but this place is good. I definitely recommend it. Again it's mom and pop, do not expect fine dining or perfect customer service. However the service is very kind and welcoming nothing wrong about it. The staff was pleasant and attentive, couldn't ask for more. You get what you put out. Positivity will always reverberate.“
“The service is excellent. The food is excellent. The place is clean and has a cohesive look, but it's a little too "young" for my outdated fifty year old self. It's well worth a try. I've been here several times and have never been disappointed.“
“(Translated by Google) Very good service. The popusas are delicious and only $ 2 !!The client cervical is very good here. The manager who took good care of me.(Original)Muy buen servicio. Las popusas son ricas y solamente a $2!!El cervical al cliente es muy bueno aquí. El manager que me atendió muy bien.“
“Whenever I come here the service is great, they are very attentive. I either get ceviche de pescado or arroz chaufa. My most important appetizer is choros a la chalaca. If you are looking for a casual place to have a tasty meal, this is your go to place. Bring cash though.“
“The BEST rotisserie chicken in Elmont! Even my vegetarian family members rave about the smell alone in the car when we get takeout rotisserie chicken and say it's the only time they've considered eating meat again. It is well seasoned and though it's getting pricey, the chicken is consistently good. The place is small but clean and the staff aren't necessarily chatty but not rude. I always miss this chicken when away from Elmont. Haven't ventured into the rest of the menu, but the chicken with rice and beans is my go-to.“
“I'm shocked this restaurant doesn't have more reviews! This is truly an authentic and underrated Peruvian spot on Long Island. This location was formerly known as The Inkan Restaurant & Pisco Bar, but it had closed some time in 2021. Latino Café & Bar replaced this location afterwards (different owners). They have Peruvian fare as well as some Latin American dishes. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally decided to order lunch from here today. For lunch, I ordered the Lomo Saltado and a Chicken Empanada on DoorDash. The food was piping hot when it arrived and tasted so fresh! The steak was nice and tender. All of the food was seasoned very well. I also loved the spicy green sauce that came with my empanada. The food was very reasonably priced as well. I'll definitely be giving more dishes a try from this place. I highly suggest you do the same :) *Note* This restaurant makes delivery orders only on DoorDash and Uber Eats. They do not make orders on GrubHub! My order on GrubHub had unexpectedly been cancelled, but when I called the restaurant, woman on the phone told me they don't offer GrubHub.“
“Truly a very good experience with this place, of which I have been a customer for more than 10 years, very varied food, with very good service, very reasonable prices, and very well served and served as every Peruvian likes. I give it and love it. I will always give 5 Stars to this place especially for that grilled chicken that resembles and is so similar to the chicken that one can only find in some neighborhood or on one of the streets of Lima“
“The flavors here are unique and amazing! My party of 2 ordered 6 tapas and the churros for dessert, which came out to be a perfect amount of food. The most outstanding dishes were the lamb chops, soft shell crab tempura, and warm mushroom salad, but everyone was quite excellent! I'll definitely remember this place for another special occasion!“
