This was a wonderful surprise, my husband and I went in for dinner during our trip and it exceeded all expectations. The service was great, the server was very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. The dinner was amazing, the mussel in coconut sauce appetizer was delicious, unlike anything I’ve ever had. The main dish and dessert were also exquisite. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

What a gem in poughkeepsie! I never would have expected this place! The food is absolutely amazing and so was the service! I've never been to a place where they take your food when you go to the restroom so they can keep it warm! The ambiance is fantastic. The food selection is exquisite. A little shocked that they didn't have non-alcoholic beer but that would not deter me from going again. This will be a new spot for me. If you're looking for a place to go solo or a romantic date, this is the place for you.Parking: There is a lot across the street but there's also plenty of parking on the street. I believe before 6:00 p.m., you have to pay but afterwards it is free.

Really lovely. Our server Natalie is cute and lively and knowledgeable and Eric couldn't have been sweeter. We've been many times usually with large groups. It was packed last night and quality was still on point. K

We enjoyed our meal at Brasserie 292. The place was packed with people enjoying a meal before a show at Bardavon, so the energy was high and you could tell the staff was huddling to make sure everyone was being taken care of. Our server was wonderful and made sure we were taken care of. The food was great (salmon and scallop dishes w side of spinach), wine choice nice and warm upside down cake was delish! Overall a very pleasant meal and experience!

As always, everything at Brasserie 292 was excellent. It's a charming atmosphere with excellent friendly service (and staff) and delicious food (with many varied choices). We've been there several times and each time is perfect. We live an hour away so we don't go as often as we would like but we always have an excellent experience.

Bustling but still cozy place. Staff exceptional, particularly our server, Grayson. Two in our group ordered specials, two from the regular menu and all were outstanding. We'll be back!

Our waitress is very friendly. She told us their special which was quite a few. We had order escargot which was missing a piece. We told our waitress and the piece was replaced with additional 2 more. That's was nice. My spinach that came with my trout dish was a bit salty but in general food was

From beginning to end, the experience was top notch. Welcoming host, great table, our server Morgan was wonderful, entire staff helped each other and were super positive. Loved the French Music and the low buzz of a not too crazy Tuesday night. We love the oysters and the NY Strip here and we came back for those. Thanks again

We had a very enjoyable dinner with top notch service from Grayson. My husband had onion soup & the veal chop special. My son & l shared the steamed little neck clams with him having salmon & l had the trout. Everything was delicious. We all agreed that we would go again to Brasserie 292.

Went for Valentine's Day; our 4th time here or so. One of the best meals I've ever had. Everything was delicious. Great cocktails. Great service. It's not often a restaurant exceeds my expectations. Thanks!

We never have had a bad meal at the Brasserie! However, sometimes, like on a recent evening, we were seated at a table for two that was unusually close to the other tables on each side of us. If the restaurant was full, we would have understood but there were a number of empty tables in the middle of the room. When asked if we could move, the staff graciously honored our request. I think taking a table for two away from the left side of the dining room would then give some breathing space for the other tables. If this were in Europe, we would not mention this...but we are in Poughkeepsie.

First visit was perfect in every way. Grayson was professional, courteous, and impressive in managing my solo dining experience while staying on top of a large party alongside me. Superb food, charming atmosphere, and generally a nice way to kick off the holiday season.Editing my review to elaborate on the first and mostly describe my 2nd visit -- much different, less perfect, and in many ways even better. It had been a challenging week so I decided that a second indulgence at Brasserie was in order for the weekend. My mistake: I used Open Table instead of calling the restaurant. Apparently the reservation was deleted online. No idea how that happened. Understanding that it was a Saturday and they have limited space, I was turned away. So it goes.I was maybe 10 paces out the door when (I assume) the owner called after me and offered a seat at the bar. Leery that it might be crowded/noisy, I took him up on it anyway. So glad I did. Wonderful experience all around. The young woman (didn't catch her name!) and Erich took great care of me at the bar, and service from the kitchen was impeccable and well-timed. This time it was oysters followed by lamb shank then the bourbon spice cake, first time it was an almond-crusted baked cheese special then the butcher's steak. All superb. I doubt that there is a bad item on the menu. Also, good people-watching. Ample range of ages and personalities. (And, seated at the bar, of course there's no option but to be more social. Did me a world of good. Great conversation.) I lived in Manhattan for a long time and am a butcher's daughter. I am not a snob, but I do know good food. So many restaurants cut corners/take shortcuts these days, even those with good reputations among the fancy folk. Gradually I have built up some local favorites in Cold Spring, Garrison, Fishkill. Brasserie 292 has just surpassed them all. This is the best dining experience I have had in the Hudson Valley.Second mistake: I didn't bring cash and didn't realize that I couldn't tip on my gift card. Yikes! I owe the bar a tip!I'll be back!

We always enjoy coming here. Really few details are ever overlooked and the consistency from meal to meal has always impressed us. The one area I would focus on a bit is cooking the Veal Chop a bit more as mine had to be sent back given it was all but raw at the bone - hard to do especially when stuffed as well (the veal chop - not me), since the sauce and veal is so good -- best to get it right the first time out. Thank you
