River Station has such a nice view while you dine. The drinks are strong and worth the price. Nice ambiance for a night out. The bar tender was great he rocks. I would recommend this restaurant.

The river station is a great place for clam chowder, beer, and football with a nice view of the Hudson River. It also does a good job with planned events such as a brunch in the upstairs.

Loved the food and the service was great. Has a gorgeous view from the outside terrace. One of my favorite places hands down!

Had a great lunch. Food was fresh. Lobster roll was delicious, tasted like Lobster should, not over cooked and the calamari was light and crispy. Will stop back when we take another trip that way.

A perfect location to start an exploration of Poughkeepsie. The food service is fast and the location overlooking the Hudson River is great getting the mood of the place.

I order a burger to go. It was supposed to come with lettuce, tomato and I added cheese and onion. I also asked for it to be well done. I opened it up on arrival at my destination and all there was was a burger that was 90% pink in the middle and onion and pickles I didn't order. It also took a lot longer than expected. Which would have made sense if my burger was actually well done. I even tipped. This is my second time eating there and the food being subpar. Will not be back.

Se had a chicken dish (apologies can't remember which one but it was creamy and came with rice) that was great! Unfortunately the shrimp cocktail was gross. Shrimp tasted grainy...like spoiled.Drinks were ok. Might try again

We had a wonderful experience at the River Station Restaurant, a family-owned waterfront restaurant that has been serving delicious seafood and more for 40 years. The view of the Hudson River and bridge was stunning. Our beautiful server Lindsay was friendly and attentive, and the food was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the steak and shrimp, which was cooked to perfection and came with roasted potatoes. My sister had the station steamers and Chicken Quesadilla which were delicious. My friend had the fried calamari as his dinner with a side of fries, which was tender and crispy. For the table we ordered Fried Caprise ( a little salty) . For dessert, we indulged in the apple crisp, which was moist and rich. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The inside of the restaurant was a little hot but it was a thousand degrees outside. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from their extensive menu. River Station Restaurant is a gem in Poughkeepsie that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal with a view.

Great casual and local feel to this place near the Hudson River. Every time I'm in Poughkeepsie, I try to stop by this place for a meal to sit down and enjoy outside overlooking the river or a quick to-go meal to take onto the Metro-North across the street. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is great depending on what you're in the mood for. I've had the Salmon BLT with fries and we also have had their prime rib as well as their mussels. The prime rib was awesome...a nice hearty cut with lots of flavor. The fries here are always so good and crisp. You can't go wrong with the food here.

If I can give them negative one star I would. The service was terrible, the food was absolutely disgusting, no flavor, no seasoning. I order wings, bland, no flavor. Bleu cheese was yellow and watery, looked expired; we ordered snapper and Cobb salad for lunch, snapper was terrible, dry, no flavor. I ate the salad because I was hungry. This place is overpriced. The worst dining experience ever!!! Save your money, do not go. I don’t understand how they are even in business.

This is one long time owned restaurant. DECADES! You can always rely on River Station. We like to sit outside during the nice weather. I don't care for the ambiance upstairs and inside (downstairs) we prefer a window seat if it's available. We mainly come for lunch and the food is good. My husband is an oyster and steamed clam lover and it's consistently excellent. It's my opinion that their baked clams are the best in the area. We've never had a bad experience. Service is very good.

Had the Captain Combo. It was not good. Shrimp, scallops and crab legs tasted frozen. The waitress was nice and attentive. The view was nice. But food was awful. For the price, the food should have been better.

Visited twice in the past few weeks. Both times, the food was good but unfortunately had subpar service on both occasions. My first visit, I dined upstairs. Our table was uneven and kept tipping. It took over 20 minutes to get 2 cocktails even though we were one of the only tables in the restaurant. The cocktails were not good- neither of us enjoyed them. Our waitress didn’t write down our order and forgot/missed multiple items. My next visit, I dined with 3 others downstairs during happy hour. Again, our waitress (different waitress from my first visit) didn’t write down our order and missed/forgot multiple items as well but didn’t forget to add them to our check. Our drinks were flat. Not a great overall experience. With the costs of everything rising, we’re being much more picky with where we spend our money. It will be a while until I give Riverstation another chance given the 2 poor experiences.

Friendly service but food was just Ok for the price. Maybe we came with a large party (20 people) and that affected food quality? Steak was overcooked, Seafood combo was dry. Chowder taste was ok. View of sunset and bridge from the second floor was beautiful.
