The empty shop should’ve been the giveaways. Fries at “Chapli and fries” were inedible, raw inside burnt outside. Chapli was dry, rice was bland. Sauces made it edible atleast. Will not be visiting again.

We ordered a few mixed platters, a Chapli kebab platter, and mango habanero wings. The wings were delicious, the mixed platters were as expected—nothing exciting. However, the Chapli kebab with sweet potato fries was unpleasant. The sweet potato fries didn’t even taste like sweet potatoes. We will not be ordering this again.

The food was really good. Got the mixed chicken/beef platters $13 (very good value). The fries are fresh potato with the skins, perfectly cooked, not too greasy. The meat was perfectly spiced and the rice was excellent. I would definitely come back. Limited seating, most people get take out.

Bad customer service. Made me wait 30 minutes while serving other customers who came after me. Talked about me in their language many times and made jokes about me which I have recorded. Also their chicken is highly dyed instead of real seasoning. Their chapli is mostly eggs instead of meat. They are not sweet people.

Today, I decided to give this establishment a try after seeing it on Instagram. Disregard the mixed reviews that people have written on Google. This place is definitely a must try if you're in the Queens area. The portions are ginormous and best of all the staff is welcoming. This place deserves 10 stars. ?. I would definitely recommend trying the mixed Chapli platter with the white sauce, medium spicy sauce, and the sweet chili sauce. ??

Even though I frequent the Chaplin& Chips restaurant, I will always prefer the truck on Hillside period. The atmosphere of the restaurant leaves a bit to be desired as there are always interruptions while eating. One would be better off ordering Uber Eats, as the order is not hurried. I would have to comend the owner for being on the New York Times list of best new restaurants during the pandemic. He is extremely hard-working and humble, and personally kept my mom and I full during that trying time. This is one of the only franchises she trusts being true Zabiha Halal. Topi off brother. Best chapli, the food truck is great also but because this place has more space, they have more items in their salad bar. each meal can last two meals if you eat normal but if you can devour like me, it's a huge meal.
