Everybody has their favorite local Halal Food cart. This is my go-to and apparently also for many St. John's students from down the street. Menu is simple. Chicken, Lamb, Falafel or Combo in a sandwich or over rice. If you get the rice platter, you get chunks of pita bread tossed in, along with some lettuce and tomato and your choice of white sauce, hot sauce and/or barbecue sauce. I'm a white sauce purist and get the hot sauce on occasion when I feel like scalding my taste buds. Prices have recently gone up $1 and soda is no longer included in the price, so don't be surprised. Times are hard on all of us, but we have to support the local small businesses. It's still a good deal though. It's a cash business, so if your wallet is running low, walk the 50' to the ATM and withdraw some cabbage. If you drive there and park in the TD Bank parking lot just to get your food, TD probably has you recorded on their surveillance cameras, so stay on the streets, unless you have business in the bank also.

Coming from a family of halal food connoisseurs, I have to say without dispute that Hajrah Halal Food is the BEST halal spots in NY. The meat is cooked and marinated perfectly with delicious flavorful rice. Employees are pleasant and always ask what or how you want your food prepared. They are open super late and cost is very reasonable, tbh I always tip a few bucks extra because the workers deserve it. The owner, Niko is a respectable, caring, and hard working young man. He always makes sure the quality of food is consistent in addition to everything else! Parking is tough I usually goto the TD parking lot and cash out of the atm if there's no card. They just added uber eats so now you can get it delivered! I always get the lamb over rice with salad and white sauce, can never get tired of it!

So i asked for a salad With mix lamb and chicken and 4 falalfel balls. The hotsaude and green sauce was delicious. I ended up getting rice smh also very small lamb portion and alot of bland chicken. Falalfel not tasty at all. Wait time 15 minutes cause falalfel was made fresh. Overall not so fond of the food from here.

I ordered 2 chicken over rice for a pick up to which the guy asked me to come after 15 mins. I got there after 25 mins and he said its gonna take another 30 mins. We got into a 20 sec arguement when he responded that he is working alone and is behind because he is sick. i was left confused so I asked him "Wait, did u just say your sick?" to which he responded "Everybody is sick right now" but I insisted he answer my question. And he admitted he is sick. We have this CORONA VIRUS Pandemic right now and this guy is Sick and preparing peoples food. Crazy! Irresponsible! Unprofessional! Even though the food is good I am not going back!

I use to come here regularly for 2 years. Until they switched the night guy. Everytime I go, I have to argue with the guy to put the meats on the pan. Because you know, some people must like cold chicken and lamb said no one ever. I always have to ask for it to be cooked with onions and peppers (even though at other carts it comes cooked with onions and peppers without asking or being charged extra) just to get my food hot. And the proportions are smaller on the proteins with a hit or miss on the fries and eggplant. It's a shame since I always pass it on my way to and from work. And now I feel like I have to avoid it when I see him there.

Came here to try a cheeseburger and hot dog since I needed something quick. Hot dog was meh but the hamburger was great! Good prices too, only $6 total it cost me. I will definitely be going back so I could try the fried eggplant, fries and the chicken and rice platter! Thanks again

Very rude operators. Does not listen, and seems unsanitary. Cleaning their cart with the same glove hand that they're serving food. The chicken seemed to have loads of food coloring to give the allusion of flavor, because it was extremely bland. Would avoid this place.

Went back another time and it came with fries and eggplant. Free pita as well if you ask. All around, great halal food.
