The food was delicious. The fish just melted in our mouths. The service was impeccable. Highly recommended.

Came here for the 18-course omakase. At first, I was concerned that it would be too much… how could I have 18 courses? Would I be too full? Too gluttonous?Luckily, each of the courses (a piece of sushi) was small and I was not too full by the end of the meal. There were delicious pieces and each were unique on their own - too many pieces to name. Some were just okay - none I disliked. The price was fair for the quality and the experience.I paired the meal with a bottle of sake - the limited sake list had a variety of styles and prices.Finished the meal with a yuzu cheesecake and that was a fine ending!

Kaiyo is great and affordable for an omakase. I got 18 pieces for $115, which includes dessert. If you have any allergies, the chef can accommodate you accordingly. The waitress was attentive, she refilled our water and asked us if we wanted more pieces, were ready for dessert, etc. The chef briefly explains each piece as he serves you. Each piece was delicious, some pieces definitely had a kick to it. The place is overall small and if you sit by the door, you might get cold. The only thing I did not like was the dessert, it's a small piece of an ice cream sandwich. The dessert could have definitely been elevated.

Good for dating but I have too high standards for omakase. This is omakase for young ppl or middle class men. I liked experience overall.

Delicious food! Came here on a weeknight, make sure to make a reservation! We were seated promptly after arriving! Perfect for a casual meal, date night or a celebratory meal! Food is very fresh! Price is reasonable for that quality of freshness! If you like omakase experiences, definitely give this place a try! We will definitely be back! Thanks!

Came in with a group of 5. We made a reservation for early sitting. We were greeted with friendly staff and warm tea. Had an exceptional omakase experience. The restaurant itself projects a modern and cozy vibe. We opted for an 18 course meal ($118). Ask for house sake, it's on the house! Every single piece of sushi was carefully and beautifully crafted. Each piece was unique and absolutely delightful (& delicious). The chef was generous with each cut and the fish were super fresh! Definitely recommend others to try this spot!

Came here on a Friday night and it was very easy to secure a last minute reservation for 3 people. There's typical seating at the bar but there are also two private tables for 2 and one private table for 4 in the back that can reserved by calling. The service was great and the sushi was all very delicious. We opted for the 18-course meal which runs $118 per person (the 15-course is $98 pp) and had a couple Sapporo beers at $7 each. Overall, I really enjoyed the omakase experience at Kaiyo and would definitely try again.

Highly recommend!First of all, the fish was absolutely delicious. My partner and I got the 15 course omakase and loved every dish. I loved that for so many of the pieces, the high quality fish was the star of the show. The chef would add a touch of a simple pairing that would perfectly complement the fish. My favorite was yellowtail with shishito pepper— they seemed made for each other! And the sweet shrimp with just a touch of lime was incredible. There were also some complex plates that I thoroughly enjoyed as well. Definitely top-notch omakase! The servers were very attentive, welcoming and accommodating. I love the vibes too, with the brick wall and intimate setting.

Nigiri was fresh and tasty. Love the Macha cheese cake for dessert as well. For the service, the waiter gave us food menu first, we ordered the food and asked for the drink menu twice. And then they started served the food even before we ordered drink which was unusual in Japanese restaurants. The correct way is to order drinks, drinks served and make a toast(Kanpai), and then comes the food.We also mentioned the food we dont like is salmon, but found out the chef has removed Ikura as well...which is actually one of our favorites... guess the waiter was misunderstood thinking we are allergic to salmon. Should have been asked if Ikura is ok to serve or not instead of removing without asking.
