Extremely disappointing experience. I been here twice and the first time the servers were extremely slow, (wasnt busy) un attentive did not refill waters or clean tables. I was here again tonight and as soon as i walked in i realized most of the tables were uncleaned and dirty and left unattended the whole time i was there. Was first red flag. Again the servers were slow, forgetful and un attentive. This time i got my check for one burrito and one beer, and the server sneaked in an automatic 20% tip without me even noticing and then on top of that expected to be tipped more! This place sucks, is extremely dirty, will not be coming back, and the servers are definitely shady and trying to scam customers. Be careful.

I was just ripped off by this place so watch out. I went in with my wife and ordered a couple of Coronas from the bar and the total came to over $18. I asked the lady tending bar about this, thinking there may have been a mistake as it seemed a little expensive and she looked up the price on the payment console and reaffirmed that they were $9 each. However, I could see over her shoulder that they were supposed to have been $7. I also confirmed this by looking at a menu. I used to like going to this bar from time to time as it has a cool ambiance and I've always had a good time there but I won't be back. It's not a bad place but just make sure to ask about the prices in advance and make sure your bill is added up correctly.

Excellent food, we enjoy the birria and steak tacos, together with the elote desgranado. Drinks are exceptionally delicious!! Will definitely be back. We sat down at the back patio the and it looks and feel like you’re in Mexico.

Not authentic at all....elote desgranado sat in a bath of orange oil, the flautas have mozzarella cheese what's wrong with Oaxca cheese?? It was topped with more mozzarella instead of a simple dish of flautas stuffed with chicken and topped with crema, cojita cheese and shredded lettuce. The tacos came with garlic mayo?? All I need is onions, cilantro and a lime wedge. Churros were over fried and dry, the ice cream had ice crystals from being in the freezer too long. Draft beer was flat, bottom line eat at ur own risk. Only good thing was the supposed homemade corn tortilla, the waitress's attentive service & strong margaritas .

This was very disappointing. The vibe is taco truck chic but the food was not up to snuff. I got a chicken burrito and it didn't taste at all like Mexican food. The corn, which tasted like it had been sitting in juice under a lamp, overpowered the dish. I can't get the flavor out of my mouth. The lettuce was limp. There wasn't a lot of chicken. I'd have preferred fresh beans but it had refried beans, which can be good but these were quite bland. Nothing about this burrito made me feel like I'd made a good decision. There's so much good food in Astoria, including taco trucks. Skip this.

Food was decent. Would avoid the Birria meat, despite being extremely tender and fatty it lacked flavor. There carne asada beef is the star of the show with the most with a nice umami and great citrusy bite to it.The fried fish tacos were also a nice touch, fish was cooked well and pared well with a crisp Slaw and tangy sauce. For a Sunday afternoon they were understaffed for the customers that were there. One host who was also serving the food and bartending, hopefully they can staff better. The crème de la crème on top was for just a party of two to add the automatic gratuity of 20% to the menu. We ordered several items and would have gladly tipped the amount regardless, but to have it blatantly added to the final amount seemed unnecessary. Will not be headed back in the immediate future.

The food, service, and ambiance are good. HOWEVER, we (a table for 2) were pre-charged 20% tip on our bill. On top of this, the machine they use to obtain your card payment suggests an additional 3%-8%, ON TOP OF THE 20% THEY CHARGE.This is a bold and deceptive tactic on behalf of this restaurant as the waiter did not mention the tip was included. We had to request a paper receipt to see the charge. It should be up to us, the customers, to input what percentage tip we wish to include based on the quality and efficiency of service, NOT based on what the restaurant feels like charging us.Tipping culture in general has become outrageous and it is sad that this restaurant has chosen this route. I've enjoyed this restaurant before but this sneaky tactic left a sour taste in our overall experience.Overall, it reflects a lack of integrity from this establishment so if you decide to come here, proceed with caution.

Overall - not worth it! Overpriced, small food portions and on top of that, they automatically charged 20% gratuity on top of the meal - note: we were two people having been here for less than 45 mins. Online menu is also misleading - came expecting brunch menu and turns out they don't do that. Food is at average if not slightly below

I've done delivery and dine in at La Tiendita; both times have been fantastic! The food is delicious and fresh, drinks were strong, and the servers are friendly.Great local spot. If you are dining in, nearly all tables are high top. If you have difficulty with high top seating or bar seating, consider going for take out!
