I was looking for a particular brand of Greek koroneiki olive oil but was discouraged to see aisles of Felippo Berio that EVERY grocery store sold. It made me want to order online, which I wanted to avoid. Then I looked up this place and was surprised to see that they carried the exact brand I was looking for.For those who are moving into the neighborhood, it is definitely worth checking out local specialty stores, rather than defaulting to your Whole Foods, Amazon, Target etc. I will definitely be shopping here in the near future to try more stuff.

The products are good but the service is horrible from the owner. His staff is fine. I have been going here for years because it's convenient but after today I will not go back. For starters I asked about a price and I was surprised at the increase and said wow. He snapped at me saying inflation and I can't help it if you don't like it. The owner always over weighs. If you ask for 2 lbs he gives you 2.5 lbs. or more. The cost for pita breads is $4.99. Everywhere else it's $2.99-$3.49. Today I asked for one pound of cheese and I specifically asked not to go over the one pound. He said no problem I'll go under. But of course it wasn't. He went over again. Note to all when he goes over it's not a small amount either and it gets very costly. So overall I'm rating his business low because of his service and because he's such a nasty man. PS there was another customer next to me and she too said she has same exact experience and gets annoyed every time she shops there.

This market is a hidden gem in Queens! They have such a wide range authentic Greek products including fresh items like cheeses, olives, spreads, etc. The staff are super helpful at picking products, they helped translate info about items, allowed me to taste the cheese, and even shared a recipe with me. The store was extremely clean and organized every time I visited. Would recommend to anyone looking to try out new, delicious foods and those who want to receive impeccable customer service every time!

I asked my my wife to stop by Mediterranean Tastes on N. Blvd at 196th Street to pick up a few items for Orthodox Easter. She picked her items and waited on line for her turn to pay. The customer in front of her spoke fluent Greek to the man behind counter and expressing that he doesn't have a bag. The worker behind the counter said I'll give you one with no charge. When it was my wife's turn to pay she spoke Greek and a mixture of English to him. He then turned around to his other coworker and said she's American/Greek and charged her for the bag. This post is not because of the "bag" but instead how this place treats differently "Greeks" vs. American-Greeks. Also, my wife never gives reviews despite how great or bad her experiences are. I'm writing this on her behalf because she feels like she never wants to go back to this store, being singled out. It's a shame because this store has some very good items that we like.
