Phayul is one of my go-to spot, offering delightful comfort Tibetan food. Love most of their food options, especially their phingsha. While the laphing is just okay here, the mains truly stand out. Restaurant environment is nice with good service. Definitely recommend for Tibetan dishes

Didn't know there were 2 locations and first saw the sign for the 2nd F one (we only saw the newer location across the street when we exited). Not a good first impression going upstairs, with the carpeted steps. Small place, no fuss, 5 tables. Can see the kitchen from dining area so the place got pretty warm. Was cooler at the table near the door. Food was good. Pan fried momos had crispy bottoms but soupy filling. Asked for a little spice in the spicy pork but tasted mild; tasty pieces of pork bellies though. Liked the egg fried rice - different rice grain, but too simple for the price. Mango lassi is not as thick consistency as I've had before. 3.5 stars. Will try the other location next time.

I had the Lhasa fried noodles with vegetables. It was a pretty standard stir fried noodle dish, but it had quite the spicy kick, which I enjoyed. But apart from the heat, the noodles didn't have too much flavor.

Their momos, lhasa, and butter tea were so tasty I want to come back here again! They were pretty busy when we entered, but the servers seated us right away. The interior of the restaurant is nice but I think it would be difficult to bring large parties here. I likes their beef momos more than the vegetable ones but both were really yummy. The lhasa was also so tasty. It is on the spicier side, but it went perfect with the butter tea. I definitely would come back here and try more of their dishes!

First time trying Tibetan food. I've heard many good things about Phayul and their momos so I was very excited to try them. I got the chicken momos and the veggies momos (to-go). The chicken momos were just ok. The chicken filling was slightly dry. The veggies momos were amazing. The potato filling was delicious. I definitely recommend getting the veggie ones. The chili oil definitely gives a kick to the momos but be careful because it was quite spicy.

I've never had Tibetan food before and I loved this spot. My husband and I shared:- Fried Beef Momo- Vegetable Momo- Shogo Khasta- Lhasa Fried Noodle (Pork)- Regular LaphingI really enjoyed everything. I'm not sure if I could pick a favorite because it was all new and different. I will warn you that some of it was pretty spicy. The Laphing in particular really had me sweating. The menu was huge and I would love to come back and try more of it.

Really been enjoying Himalayan food lately so went to this Nepali restaurant at Jackson Heights. The restaurant was kinda hard to find since there's two locations by the same intersection... the other Phayul is on the 2nd floor across the street lol. I was waiting for two friends running couple mins late but the waitress was very kind to seat me first. Thanks for being so patient and accommodating! The menu isn't super lengthy but definitely try either the steamed or fried momos! You won't regret it. Seems like the main dish is Lhasa noodles or rice which means something along the lines of "stir-fried". I liked the space and maybe would be nicer if the lighting was slightly brighter as it was too dark even for a summer 6pm. Overall, I would recommend checking out Phayul!

I stopped into Phayul at the start of one of many food crawls I've organized for myself through Jackson Heights, my favorite neighborhood to eat my way through. No visit to Jackson Heights is complete without some Tibetan momos. My friends ordered their classic beef ones whereas I got a plate of the veggie ones. We sat in their outdoor dining area and were served promptly. The dumplings were really fresh and the filling was plenty flavorful. I enjoyed dousing mine in their chili oil. I haven't had any of their other dishes but thought the service, outdoor dining area, and their momos were pretty solid.

Where do we begin..... Upon entering, our party was struggling to find anyone to help us. When the lady checked us in she verified our vaccination cards and was told to wait inside for a table to be ready. Then the other server told us to wait outside so we were confused on where to go. Upon sitting down we were handed menus and knew we wanted to try the famous veggie and beef momos. Initially we wanted to order a steamed veggie momo and a fried beef momo. But due to miscommunication only one order of the fried veggie momo came. However, we waited over 10 minutes to try and flag someone down to take our order. Then we waited another 15 to 20 mins for our food to arrive. In this time we were not offered any water or drinks, and felt ignored by the staff. We also picked up that the staff seemed annoyed and dismissive and we didn't want to bother them more. The fried veggie momo was 5 stars but the service really off put us from enjoying the food. The momo itself came piping hot and perfectly crispy. Not too oily and had a creamy potato vegetable filling. Additionally the sauces that came with the momos were spicy and delicious. Would recommend mixing all the sauces together with the pickled vegetables. We acknowledge that this location was under staffed and the summer heat could make people more irritable. However, many other tables seemed to be expierncing a similar treatment from the staff. So much so that one table left after before they got to order.

Lots of flavorful dishes here. Everything was reasonably spiced and filling. I forget if they accept card or not. But they had outdoor dining which was delightful in the middle of the pandemic.Cool spot, inexpensive food, good service.
