Had brunch here today. I had the Hangover Pizza while my wife and daughter had the Eggs Ricotta. So my review is limited to those dishes. While I'm not a big fan of ricotta, it was plated beautifully and both said it was as good as it gets. They are very picky so that's a full fledged RAVE. My pizza was Freaking Magnificent ( I don't want to be redundant and say as good as it gets, but it was). I mean pizza is pizza? No! This was extraordinarily good, fresh hot and tasty ingredients including eggs bacon and potatoes on a thin crust. Delicious Plus! The place was rather empty being it was a Saturday at 2:00 so we did have to wait as they probably had to re fire up the pizza oven, but it was worth the wait.

Thoroughly disappointed. Got the mushroom pasta which is a bestseller. Tastes like something I’d throw together in a dorm room kitchen. I ordered in so I’m not sure if that has something to do with it. I even heated it up. I’d been looking forward to trying this restaurant for a while and it just wasn’t it.

The bartender was great. They have a nice selection of wine and the pizza was tasty.

Waiter couldn't keep our orders straight. Waited forever for a simple margarita pizza. Sad but true. Would not recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant. The Margherita pizza was a delight, and the Carl Graff Riesling wine complemented every dish perfectly. However, the lobster ravioli fell short of expectations; while not bad, it didn't leave a lasting impression for a reorder.

I really hate to give 1 star but honestly was so disappointing. We came here on thanksgiving expecting some decent service and a nice meal. I want to preface by saying the staff was very kind and professional, and the food itself tasted great. However i took us 30+ minutes to get 1 app, then waited almost a whole hour for our entrees. The portions were very small and disappointing - not that I got to even enjoy it because my partner was paying the bill and as i turned around to talk to him one of the servers swiped my half eaten plate without even asking. Imagine waiting 1.5 hours to be served a whole meal just for it to be taken away from you before you can even finish on THANKSGIVING. Honestly so sad - I will not be coming back.

Really nice place! I’m Italian and I wanted to have a real Italian food night in Astoria. The orecchiette are simply fantastic with very generous portions. Their cake was also one of the best desserts I’ve tried in a long time! The staff is also very friendly! Overall, very recommended.

One of the best neighborhood wine bars/restaurant. Love the ambience, staff & food. Can't say much more.

Food was medicore. The pizza was thin but tasted like a cracker with cheese on it. The pasta was tasteless and lacking salt. We really only liked the meatballs, but we've had better elsewhere.

Vesta is a nice spot for any Astoria local looking to grab a quick bite and glass of wine. The food is simple, but has nice clean flavors and the portion sizes were great! Named after the Roman goddess of home and hearth, Vesta trattoria in Astoria certainly has a warm and homey feel. The dark and soft lighting combined with the cozy and comfy decor are inviting and perfect for a neighborhood wine bar that locals love to frequent. The wine list is modest but comprehensive. I believe it provided enough variety without drowning you in pages on pages of options. We had a glass of the pinot noir, the bordeaux, and the sauvignon blanc. All were excellent. I particularly enjoyed the bordeaux, which was oaky and not too sweet with a very pleasant and mellow aftertaste. For starters we tried the Arincini with mozzarella and pesto and the meatballs. We enjoyed them both. The meatballs were nice. Nothing mind blowing, but solid classic meatballs. The pesto flavor in the arancini was very subtle, but the consistency was perfect and they were still very enjoyable. We both went for pasta. The gnocchi with lamb and eggplant and the Orecchiette al Funghi with mushrooms and truffle oil. The consistency of the gnocchi was slightly firm but still very nice, as was the flavor of the lamb. I did not get much of an eggplant taste, but overall the dish was lovely and I cleaned the plate. The Orecchiette was the star of the show for us. The mushroom flavors were perfectly balanced with the cream sauce. Overall I quite liked the experience. The staff was very friendly and the service precise. Good, local Italian comfort food. What's wrong with that?
