It was our first time at the restaurant. We chose outside because it was supposed to be a beautiful day and the food came from the same kitchen. When we arrived we went to the front-desk. The lady made a face and told us to go around the restaurant your reservation is outside. We were dressed casual but not sloppy. We made the assumption people need to dress up to seat inside. When we reached the outdoor seating area it was almost empty. One table occupied. Later another couple came for sandwiches. We ordered the appetizers and entrees that would be served at the dining room. The over $20 appetizers and over $40 entrees. Top shelf glass of wine but we were feeling like we're being treated as the sandwich people. The place was empty. No reason to rush us out. But I hadn't finished my dinner yet and the waiter asked if we were planning eat dessert. My husband said that sure because it's her birthday. The waiter said with no emotion. Happy birthday. He didn't ask if we wanted coffee or tea with the dessert. The desserts were brought. Even an affordable restaurant adds a candle or the chef writes happy birthday on the plate. When I went to the restroom I noticed people poorly dressed eating inside the dining room. Too much to be respectful of dressing code. The food was excellent but overpriced. We don't mind overpriced food if it comes with outstanding service. We still have 20% tip out of a large bill to the waiter. But not coming back.

Incredible culinary delight. The Spring Pasta dish was out of this world and so was the salad with Brussels sprouts, etc. Drink was also delicious! Pomegranate Martini! Such a wonderful dinner!

I chose Terrapin restaurant to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We orchestrated a surprise with six friends coming to the restaurant early to surprise us when we walked in. The staff was extremely helpful about pulling this off. They took it very seriously and helped us coordinate a perfect surprise Our waiter, Patrick, was very knowledgeable about the menu... We asked him to select an array of appetizers and also desserts and he chose well... We all loved the food... He was also very helpful with choosing our entrées for people who were indecisive about different dishes... He made great recommendations about drinks and was attentive throughout the meal, but never overbearing... He even helped us with taking pictures. Patrick and the staff helped us celebrate the milestone birthday with a sparkler and singing. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and it was so memorable... We would definitely return. Thank you, Terrapin!

We had a big group and went out to dinner on a Friday night. We had a fantastic server who helped guide us through the menu. The food was great, huge portions. Cocktails were delicious. The appetizers were great. Would definitely go back again.

Lack of finesse across the board. Leg of lamb - not very tender-poor presentation. Gremalota overly garlic-with cream. More like a spicy creamed spinach than a sauce. Easter ham special -had to return plate. Could not cut ham and whole plate was cold. Ordered squash soup and goat wontons in place. Soup under seasoned. Goat wontons were the size of a quarter-two on the tapas plate. Staff was friendly and prompt.

Alex welcomed us and showed us to a lovely table. Patrick took very good care of us. The wine and dinner were great. Potscrubbers were delicious and the vegetarian dish was scrumptious. Thank you all at Terrapin for a lovely Easter dinner. We'll be back soon. Joan and Randy

The staff were wonderful about accommodating us and allowing us to sit early- we had my elderly Mom with us who, with Alzheimer's, was getting agitated about eating. Service was efficient and friendly. Truffled deviled eggs were yum! Mushroom soups was tasty, and the spring salad crisp with a zesty vinaigrette. My mom had the maple glazed ham and she ate almost all of it! The leg of lamb was done nicely and the Asiago Chicken was crispy & moist. Thank you for a lovely Sunday Dinner.

There were certain ingredients mentioned in the menu that didn't find their way into the dishes. Still, the service, the food, the drinks and the atmosphere were all great. I'd definitely go

Met friends at Terrapin since it was about 35 mi from our respective houses and had a good reputation. In most ways it did not disappoint. The menu was imaginative the appetizers were excellent as were some of the entrees. A pork chop was overdone and a bit dry. Seafood fried diablo was really not very spicy and the spaghetti mushy. On the other hand, the tuna and ribs were quite good. The service was excellent. Wait staff was attentive but not overbearing and allowed us to take all the time we needed. All in all, the restaurant certainly deserves a second visit from me

The type of restaurant that makes you wonder if anyone that works there has ever eaten in one.

We ate on the "bistro" side of the restaurant. It's a beautiful space with a large bar and a good amount of tables. It was busy, but not crowded. Our server, Nickolas, greeted us warmly and was able to seat us right away. The food was amazing! We shared some appetizers and had the salmon entree in lemon-caper sauce and the vegetarian red beans and rice. It's so nice to find a vegetarian entree that doesn't feel like an afterthought or like it's trying to be a spin-off of a meat dish. It was filling and loaded with different proteins. The menu is LARGE and it was hard to choose.Service was so efficient that it seemed effortless. Nickolas was always smiling. It was a little noisy, but it's such a beautifully weird space that noise must be impossible to control.Highly recommended.
