“First time in New York with my family and I, ironically enough my mother is German and her name is Katja so this made us want to check it out and we were extremely impressed, great service and loved the food! We came back a second time within the same week of us being in town, definitely recommend and it’s great to see establishments such as this in the states!“

“Came with friends and the fast flickering light was bothering my epilepsy so I asked my waitress Aleksandra if I could sit outside. She was wonderful bringing me beers and serving both friends inside and me outside. She went above and beyond. Great service. Great beer. Loved the atmosphere (sad I couldn’t handle the lights). The outdoor tent was great for people watching. Just a lovely experience all around.“

“Amazing, Delicious cannot wait to go back. This has to be the best food I’ve had in 2024 hands down. The Glolash 10 out of 10. The apple strudel a must have. The homemade pretzels come out hot with a crispy out side and a soft inside. The staff were helpful and friendly. The ambience makes you feel like your in Germany. The waitress helped me order my. Most of the names for the dishes are in German with English descriptions. I order the 3 different types of German sausages with sauerkraut. I have never been a fan of sauerkraut but I can eat that all day. We finish our meal with warm apple strudel with ice cream. I can eat that every day“

“Second time to Bunny and was not disappointed. The food was even better than I remembered. A standout for me was the Garlicky Labne w/ Ras-El-Hanout carrots and chili butter. Was served with homemade, fresh out of the oven bread in a paper bag. Done right.I will say that it was a bit disappointing to only have water to drink (no non-alcoholic beverages.) Feel like I missed out on a part of the experience drinking just water.Overall, a delicious spot for a satisfying meal. Cash or Venmo only.“

“Went there on a chilly rainy dull weekday night and oh boy did the place lift up my mood! ? A large beer selection (plus ciders and wines) at a great price and hearty German food. My husband and I had a big appetite and ordered a giant pretzel with cheese, 3 different bratwursts with sauerkraut, purple cabbage and a side of potato salad. By the end of our sumptuous meal we were so full that we almost had to be rolled out. All staff were very kind and professional and gave us excellent recommendations. I would go back just for their hofbrau original and classic brat (and well, yes their potato salad too).“

“I love potato pancakes and was expecting a pancake size order. They were smaller appetizer sizes. I went just for the pancakes and ended up with a fish sandwich in a German Restaurant. It was good, but I felt my choices were either sandwiches or large meals at 2pm.. I'll go back to try something else..Wheelchair accessibility: I'll disabled and didn't need a wheelchair but it's Street level. Parking is on the street as well.“

“Gottscheer Hall is a fixture of Ridgewood and has been for decades. It does an excellent job at bridging the gap between the old neighborhood and the infusion of the new crowd in a way in which everyone feels welcome. The food is excellent and reasonably priced and their selection of German beer pretty much guarantees something for everyone. The bartenders are also the best in the area, friendly, personable and great to chat with while sipping on a cold one. I've made many memories and friends in that place from all walks of life. I recommend it to everyone. Easy 5 stars. Check it out!“

“Besides their wonderful restaurant, they have the German specialty store! Both bring a little bit of Germany to Queens. The butcher shop is spectacular and immaculate. There are so many choices! Whether you're stopping in because you came for dinner next door, or you are looking for some authentic German goodies. You won't go wrong.“

“Our’s was a family dinner with my wife, daughter, and her partner. We started with the French Onion Soup and a pretzel. Both were exceptional with the FOS setting the bar. Our main meal consisting of pork and chicken schnitzel, bratwurst, and goulash. Our sides included potato salad and sauerkraut. Overall, the meal was exceptional. The server was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure our needs were met. The atmosphere was good, though a bit loud from a large family group that was celebrating life.We would recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional German meal.“

“My friend and I decided to go here after my friend's cable blacked out during the Seahawks Packers opening kickoff game. The game was on and we grabbed a few beers. The bartender was really cool and the beer was cold. Topped off with 2 Jameson shots before leaving. A very quiet place but reasonably priced drinks and a bunch of tv's.“

“Great location for events near Barclays Center, great food (I’ve been to both Black Forest locations), and fun atmosphere. I’ve been here twice for meals the past three months and it hasn’t disappointed one bit. Although the Smith Street location has a nice outdoor area in the back, this location has a more intimate atmosphere because it’s a little smaller.I’ve ordered the pretzel appetizer and the four sausage sampler (bratwurst, a frankfurter type, and a spicy cheesy one) along with a refreshing Hofbrau that comes with your choice of two or three sides. My son has had the chicken schnitzel along with spaetzel. It’s not the cheapest place, but it’s worth the price for the portions that you get. The sausage plate costs about $40 and the apps are $10+. It’s got a pretty impressive list of German beers that come in variety of sizes from a 1/2 pint to a full liter that range in price from $8 to $25.Kid-friendliness: Brought my son here twice - he enjoyed the food.“

“Significantly better than the first time I tried this chain at another location. The rice was a little al dente for my taste, but the meat was seasoned well and it definitely did the trick. They understood when I asked them to be careful about cross-contamination because I have celiac and need to make sure my food is gluten-free, but they didn’t seem very happy about it!Dietary restrictions: GF options marked but staff aren’t very reassuring, and bread is present in the kitchen“
“Best fresh baked rolls this side of town. They also freeze well for long weekends. Tried the spinach and cheese tart/pie, heaven. Not into sweets so no comment. It’s a bakery not a cafe for those who need reminding.“

“This was the best chicken döner I've ever had. The slaw, chicken, turkish pita, everything was perfect. The bread tasted fresh, the slaw was refreshing, the chicken was juicy and flavorful. The feta added the salty, the sauces added depth. I wish there was this place in Florida because I will crave this until I can get one in Turkey (married into a turkish family).“

“This is our goto place as its close from work.It has amazing atmosphere.Only giving 4 stars as outdoor seating could be little better, I am all up for rusty and industrial looks but benches need to be little more clean and polished. Some of these had splinters coming out, hope it doesn't hurt anyone.Fries are amazing and onions rings could be made little less oily. They have a good selection of beers and reasonable prices.“

“Interesting place. Ticket system is a bit odd. If they want to go cashless there are other ways to do that. Not loving an additional long line... Beer was ok. Nothing to get crazy for and nothing to spit out in disgust. Just regular old beer. Hefeweizen, pale ale and lager for us. Food was good as well. Mustard was oddly very good. We had the platter and the wurst and pretzel were the best part. Service was good all around. I would return for ambiance on a nice enough day.“
