1st time at the 1872 Cafe, went with a large group, pre-ordered our meals.My soup was homemade and delicious & salad was fresh. Wonderful hot chocolate! Staff was friendly and efficient. Will definitely be going back.

This has been a favorite spot of mine for a while because of its ambience, AMAZING and clearly-marked vegan options, welcoming owners and staff, and convenient location for me in an otherwise underserved neighborhood. Go on a Saturday morning when it's quieter to catch up with a friend or get deep work done (wifi available for customers). The chickpea tuna sandwich is my absolute favorite, but the vegan burger and French onion soup are close seconds for me. My husband and friends rave about their non-vegan options as well, like their downtown steak sub. Owners May and Paul are so welcoming and they've really created a gem here.Vegetarian options: AMAZING and clearly-marked vegan options. The chickpea tuna sandwich is my absolute favorite, but the vegan burger and French onion soup are close seconds for me.

They make the absolute best breakfast pizza and even with all my allergies they are great about making sure there are no contaminations.Update: ate in the restaurant and still delicious as always.Dietary restrictions: They really pay attention to your needs.
Ive been visiting coffee shops for 20 years out of my life and unfortunately this was my first time here and the worse experience I've ever had at a coffeehouse, food was bad, there was a decision made that my drink should be a part of a training process that took almost 7 minutes to complete. In result i ended up with a disappointing cup of mocha, the presentation was a turn off with the cup being bent and the top not fitting properly clear signs of overflow along the side of the cup. I still had high hopes in spite of the presentation, which only led to my disappointment of receiving a luke warm unsweetened Mocha with an abundance of froth on top. The sprinkles on top of this cake was the customer service was subpar. I trashed the coffee and left, i will never ho back there.

A pleasant, homey atmosphere, love the jazz playing. They put ham in my sandwich instead of what i asked for, which was bacon but it was still delicious. Will definitely be back more often, and would love to get some work done in there.

Food is great, service is great. You can get away with a coffee and a nice brunch for maybe $12-$15. My friends hang out here often. Hours are not always as posted, so it’s best to call first.Vegetarian options: I got the veggie wrap. It was delicious!

Just came in for a half-calf drip small size. There wasn’t any liquid creamer out but a large container of dry creamer. Just like my Mom fixed her own coffee, lol. I stirred the white sugar from a Jays diner-like container. I stirred it good. Excellent cup of fresh drip coffee. 1872 seems to have the works behind the counter. I just keep it simple whenever I 1st go to cafe I’ve never been to.
