So, my niece was looking for a place known for their Prime Rib and was having a hard time. She remembered that years ago she had a good meal at Charley Brown's, so off we went. We found the place packed on a Saturday night. 3 of us chose the Prime Rib and I chose the Turkey Dinner, which was very good (except I didn't care for the stuffing). The others were mixed: 2 thought it was good and the 3rd thought it was mediocre. Therefore, the 4 stars.

As always our experience at Charlie Browns was amazing. We went on a Friday night and had the beer battered fish fry. The fish was huge and cooked perfectly, the fries were done just like we asked for, & the coleslaw was delicious. Steve was our server and he was awesome. I highly recommend Charlie

This is supposed to be a new review in Feb 2024, but it might show as an update to an earlier one.Tonight was an anniversary night, so to me special. I was tired and considered canceling the reservation, but as it was a special night I went. The fillet mignon (medium rare) was done exactly right. I passed on the gravy , the mashed potatoes were still good. Having a scotch with the meal, I reluctantly passed on dessert, as appealing as it was. Steve is a great bartender, and as usual the conversation around me was enjoyable .It’s a comfortable atmosphere and an enjoyable restaurant.

Four of us went during the power outage. The food was great and the service lovely. Nice place for a relaxed meal. Leftovers were great too.

Hands down the worst food I have ever had. Chicken French came thick pieces of grizzly chicken covered in a sauce (water) with absolutely no flavor. I can't imagine what chef would serve that let alone what restaurant! Also stuff shells when served looked odd and obviously frozen! For the prices charged for these meals you should be embarrassed serving that!! I wouldn't step foot in there again even for a free meal. It might be time for this restaurant to hang up their aprons and lock the doors and do Rochester a favor!

Dinner was excellent , has old fashioned vibe. My wife got lamb shanks on mashed potatoes , I got haddock puttenesca, so did my daughter( first for her) . Would go again if I come back to the area.
Used to visit regularly when we lived in Rochester, as it was right down the street from our house. Returning after a couple years it was nice to see that it is just as good as it ever was. The lamb is some of the best I've had anywhere. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and chicken french wonderful.A nice, small family run restaurant.
