Some of the worst vegan food I have ever had, taste was so off I had to stop eating asap . The atmosphere is disgusting and just watching the workers walk around and make the meals with all of they’re dirty cook ware and sauce holders was a sight to see. I am now dealing with nausea & just blown away they are still open to the public with a kitchen and building this disgusting. Have they given up??EDIT/REPLY to owner: Your cookware and kitchen workspace was indeed filthy, we sure did order 50 dollars of food and ate NOTHING sent back everything besides the French toast my girlfriend ordered which I expected to pay for after explaining how disgusting everything was nicely to the server. We did not bring our own drinks, we ordered water and the server brought us water bottles. After I explained how disgusting everything was and gave them back all of my food beside the French toast, she brings me a check charging me still for things I gave back and didn’t even touch after one bite. I explained to her that I would pay for the French toast since it was the onlyEdible thing, and to remove the hash browns off of the check , and keep the 5-7 dollar tip for our 3 dollar side of French toast (only thing my girlfriend ate). We are actually very healthy and have been healthy for months now also we were having a great morning and felt awesome until we tasted that disgusting food. Clean the place thoroughly, possibly hire new staff, and definitely change your recipes. Oh, and your attitude. Just give up on the place if you can’t fix what’s actually happening and deal with the truth !! If I could give 0 stars now I truly would, especially since whoever replied to this is a liar !

I've never gotten anything I didn't love. Their French toast is amazing and their chickpea eggs are really good too.

Seriously do not eat here. I tend to shy away from leaving bad reviews but I just spent $50 on food I didn't eat. The utensils we dirty. Everything on the table were coated in dirt and old food like they literally never even wpie the condiment bottles. Then the food itself was gross. The coffee was either extremely watered down or decaf. The half/half were in this dirty take out bowl with milk all over them. The food was disgusting. I ordered French toast which weren't cooked through, they were mush inside. I ordered scramble eggs with cheese, there was no cheese. My Dad ordered a cheese omelet with bacon on The side. They ended up putting the strips of bacon inside the omelet. Like cooked separately but then wrapped in egg.. ?? My mom ordered this Country plate that was a mix of a giant piece of ham and Burnt chicken. Covered in gravy sauce. It just was all bad. And there were literally only my table and one other table so it wasn't that they were busy. The sad part is years ago this restaurant used to be amazing. It had the best menu. Literally lines out the door. The food was amazing even though they were packed to the brim with customers. If you are expecting to ear at the old James Brown Place please know that this is a completely different place.I still ended up paying for the food that we didn't eat because idk why. They made it so I felt bad not paying. I also like to avoid conflict especially with my parents being there. I also still left a tip because its the right thing to do. Also the waiter asked if I wanted to remove anything from the bill. I declined because honestly, everything needed to be removed. Nothing was eaten. I didnt even drink the coffee. I've just never paid $50 at a restaurant and walked out hungry.

Long live James browns! What an utter disappointment this place has become. Having not been in the past year due to covid was unaware of the change in ownership or the sad experience waiting for us when we arrived. Instead of the usually busy vibrant diner we are use to we found a sad shadow of its former self. Instead of the joyous greeting your use to when entering we stood there in a very slow restaurant for almost 10 min before being acknowledged. The place is staffed by what appear to be disintrested teens and a child whos very bad at taking drink orders. HahahaThe food was beyond sad. Every thing was overcooked and extremely bland. Eggs so hard they crumbled if you looked at them. French toast that caN best be described as grilled bread. Im not sure they ever saw a batter. Just really sad.Possibly the worst case of gentrification I've ever seen. Just awful. So sad to see this is what has become of one of the best little joints in town.

Very fun, quiet place, not too busy but can be romantic if your into that. It's a beautiful place

It's great that they appear to offer a wide array of vegan breakfast (and lunch items), but everything I ordered today besides the sausage was extremely bland. While the sausage wasn't as flavorless as everything else, it wasn't particularly enjoyable either. It's so disappointing because everything looked absolutely amazing but lacked in every way. The eggs were also a very odd, starchy, and rubbery texture. I additionally ordered a short stack of vegan french toast which was barely spiced, barely cooked *at all*, and also did not come with any syrup or butter. It was essentially just super soft slices of white bread that were quickly, barely topped with a very small bit of butter and cinnamon. Unfortunately, I don't see any pros to ordering here again.

I went here very excited to try this restaurant with the large vegan menu. I was highly disappointed. When we first arrived I immediately was caught off guard by the overwhelming dirty atmosphere. I was shocked at how filthy the kitchen and dining area was. I ordered a few different menu items because I was excited to try as much as I could. One dish I had tasted sour. It was absolutely horrendous from the presentation to the flavor. The vegan eggs were awful. I have no idea what they’re made out of but it was almost nauseating. I genuinely appreciate the restaurant trying to offer vegan options but it’s useless if those options do not taste edible. That paired with the uncleanliness of the entire building- I will not be back. Hopefully other people provide honest feedback so the restaurant can improve the food and become a great option for breakfast!

Ordered a breakfast sandwich through Grubhub and couldn’t even eat it because the bun tasted and smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals. I even asked my fiancé to smell it to make sure it wasn’t just me and he agreed it smelled off.

Very good food, been there many times. The food is better than places I have eaten at in my hometown of New York City.

UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER.... I'm a vegan and this is my first time ordering there vegan breakfast. I ordered the eggs, sausage, potatoes and toast. I was not happy at all, it was a waste of $10.99. The potatoes were very bland and I'm not sure what kind of plant based eggs /sausage that was...all I know is, it was disgusting! Definitely wasn't Just Egg or Beyond Sausage. The only thing I was able to stomach was the toast and potatoes. Sorry James Brown, you might want to stick to a non-vegan menu.

If you like the classic hole in the wall diner vibes this is the place for you. I was pleased to see how many vegan options there were! Literally just as many as non-vegan and rarely do I think you see a menu so evenly split. My husband and I got coffee, eggs Benedict w/ spinach/mushroom while he got the eggs Benedict ranchero. We also got a side of home fries to split. The waitress was nice enough to bring out almond milk as requested for my coffee. Food came out quick & they even use separate griddles for the meat menu. The food was overall good . I personally felt mine was under seasoned but it wasn't anything that a little salt & pepper couldn't fix ( which was on the table). My husband felt his was seasoned absolutely fine so it could be personal preference or the other ingredients in his added more flavor . Either way it was good and we both enjoyed our entire plate. Also the food was all so well priced ! Where else would you get all that for $30?

This was the absolute WORST breakfast that I've ever eaten! This restaurant used to be awesome, but not anymore. The service was awful, and the food was even worse! Completely inedible!
