I saw excellent reviews of this diner and had to see if it lived up to the hype (it did!) Lakeside Haven is located on Lake Avenue in Charlotte, not far from the Britton Road Library. It's small, bright, and clean, with seasonal decor mixed among the lighthouse theme. There is a parking lot offering maybe 10-12 spaces. You can probably find street parking too, luckily we were able to get a parking spot. We were seated right away and asked for our drink order. The breakfast menu is large and there is a specials board too. My husband ordered the cinnamon roll pancake special and I tried a bite (really tasty). They came with a drizzle of sweet sauce and whipped cream. I went with eggs, toast, and home fries, which were nice and crispy but not burned. The coffee was excellent, especially compared to all the crappy diner coffee I've had in my life. This was not that! Service was friendly and fast. We had a great experience here and will be back.

I had the crabcake eggs Benedict and my fiancé had the bananas foster French toast. Both were absolutely delicious. The service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

This woman-owned restaurant is truly a family eatery. Not a glitzy diner with a zillion menu choices, but a simple, but tasty selection of breakfast and lunch choices. Each tastes like it comes out of a home kitchen prepared by a great cook! Never had a bad meal. And the portions are hearty! Plus they have daily specials! Their home fries are the best I've ever had.. not from frozen. And their soups and sandwiches are delicious! Specialty pancakes and egg dishes, French toast, benedicts, hot and cold sammie's!! You can't go wrong!
