This was our first visit to MacGregors and it went like this...First off there's plenty of parking and easy entrance for all...Next the bar service...A tad slow but not terrible either...Now onto the food and table service...The menu is all things pub fare and that's okay, we were having a few beers and not looking for Haute Cuisine...I ordered the chicken finger basket and the wife got an order of wings...My chicken finger were super large and very good and the fries also good...My wife's wings although she asked for extra crispy, were not so much, as most places that can't seem to get this simple request right, oh well...Anyhow all in all it was a good time with two meals and 4 beers at a cost of $110.00 with tax and tip...Give them a try and enjoy.

3 Blue light drafts , 1 cheeseburger with fries and a buffalo chicken salad to go came to $56.98 . Good bar service and good beer selection but probably won't be going back anytime soon .

Still a great place for a wide and deep range of beers, probably the best in Rochester. Food is good, but menu has gotten a little limited. Plenty of tables, bar seating, and parking. Clean with prompt friendly service. Pool, darts, some video games.
I don't like places that have hidden charges. Won't be back.

I have been driving past this place for a couple years when in town for son’s college. Went last night as we needed some food for move in day. Snowstorm outside and place was about 60% full. Server was over promptly and we already knew what we wanted as there was two of us. Order our drinks and food. Drink comes out and server said what did you want? Told her again. We both ordered burger’s medium well. My sons comes out and no issues. I remove my bun and quickly know I didn’t order what I was provided. My sons was correct. Waitress noticed me picking it apart and comes back and I tell her it’s not what I ordered. I understand not her fault and she says do you want it? Um, no. So it goes back and I am wondering how much spit the next one will have. So replacement Pig vs Beef burger comes back in about 5-8 min. It is correct, the curly fries were not changed and now cold. So I cut my losses and just ate it as didn’t want to wait again for another plate. So the burger was ok not cooked medium rare like I ordered , it was well done. My guess because it was done on the fly. My son’s burger was cooked medium rare so one out of two is not bad? The good is they have plenty of televisions and beer on tap, unfortunately I was driving rather far. I like the ambience and I also understand it’s more of a college pub hangout. I feel ownership should also recognize the amount of parents that also visit the establishment when visiting their kids.

so had a quick bit to eat last night at Macgregors in gates. At one time you always had a good meal and fair for the price. Well i can tell you not so much anymore. The only thing that was good was the service, I will tell you the young waitress was very good, friendly and efficient. After that the experience went right in the toilet. First the menu has shrunk a great deal which honestly is happening everywhere and I get it. Labor and cost are an issue and everything is up. But it does not mean you have to sacrifice quality to make a buck, My partner's chix sandwich was small, dry and not taste my Beef on Wick was the same. And both sandwich's were more like sliders for $15.99. the Fries that were suppose to be Steak fries were not and were terrible, soggy and a bunch of broken pieces. I would not recommend to anyone if your looking for good food. If it's just beer then have at it.
