Stopped in this afternoon and the place was a complete disaster. The floor was filthy, counters full of milk, crumbs and other things. I also noticed the dirty rags used to clean the latte machine. The employees didn’t seem to care about the conditions of the environment after giving feedback and walking past an empty oil can on the floor at least 7 times. I will not be returning and hope the owner takes the time to address the conditions of the space.

Super cozy and vibrant coffee shop serving the coolest folks in Rochester. The pancake was absolutely delicious (it’s banana walnut). The coffee was also great.Looks like they have wifi as well so great place to work from. The menu is a good size and has lots of fun options. Definitely will be back.

Pretty good place overall. The food is tasty, but a bit on the pricey side for the amount of food you get. I know everything is getting pricier these days, but $14 for a smallish sandwich still feels a bit excessive. Same with $6 for something like a chai or matcha latte. Everything I've had was good, don't get me wrong, just out of my price range. The inside of the place is really cute and comfy. Great little indie cafe and casual lunch spot. If you get there at the right time, it can even be a nice place to set up and get some work done. Tons of natural light, wi-fi on weekdays, cozy benches and cushioned seats. Unfortunately their kitchen closes at 3pm, so be cognizant of time if you're trying to order food. Last mild complaint - their line tends to run long. I've tried multiple times to go there on a 30-minute lunch break and ended up standing in line for 10 minutes and waiting for food for another 6-8, so I wouldn't recommend if you're on a strict time limit. They get quite busy around lunchtime, enough that there might not be any seats available, especially if people are working there. Overall - really cute place, food good but pricey, tends to be busy/crowded so service can be a little slow just from the sheer number of customers. Would go again at a different time with a better budget in mind.

Even though I also got a great cup of coffee here, this review is mostly for their burrata toast. It is the thing that keeps my friend going, and I tried it for the first time this weekend and was similarly blown away. They use incredibly fresh, local bread, toasted perfectly, for the base, and top that with a generous serving of creamy burrata, a seasonal fruit (this time it was pear), a drizzle of honey, and just a sprinkling of salt to really bring out the flavors. It's the perfect serving size for breakfast and kept me full until my late lunch. Now, about the other aspects of the cafe - It is located in NOTA, with plenty of parking and cute shops nearby, and itself is very inviting with large windows, plenty of seating (which does fill up fast on a busy day), and cool artwork. The staff are nice and food and drinks are made quickly. The salted caramel latte is a great pick-me-up and not too sweet, which pairs well with the food. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here, and if you order nothing else, get the burrata toast!

We ordered some coffees and sandwiches which were tasty and good quality, except for the ruffle chip sides they tried to pass off as chic. Atmosphere was pleasant... lots of people. Decor was okay. Staff were mixed... one guy was genuinely friendly but I could have done without the pretentiatarian bearded gnome-man in the red cap and overalls taking orders who appeared to be compensating for feelings of inferiority by barristaplaining. I feel petty writing this... it wasn't that bad, but we were in a mood and apparently so was he.

It’s fair to say I won’t be back. I actually loved this little cafe until today. While I started my food the guy cooking blew his nose with his gloves on and then went back to flipping a sandwich and using his hand to sprinkle cheese. I wanted to vomit. He then went out to his car and came back in while never washing his hands or changing his gloves. I immediately threw out my meal (which wasn’t cheap and left). I will not be back.

Melo is one of my favorite cafes in Rochester. Their coffee is always spot on and the sandwiches will make you drool. Not only are they full of flavor, but they're filling too! It's a great place to catch up with friends or to study. The Breakfast Burrito is my favorite thing on the menu. I think I get it every time I go there. If you don't know what sandwich to get, get the Breakfast Burrito. You won't be disappointed.Great location on University Ave. Great coffee. Fantastic sandwiches. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

FOUND SHARP PIECE OF PLASTIC IN MY SOUP. Ordered the soup of the day (which was delicious though) today and while I was eating it I felt smth sharp in my mouth. It turned out to be a long VERY sharp piece of plastic.

The coffee is the big issue here, the food is typically pretty good but for a coffee shop to have this small of cups with mediocre at best flavor is insane. The lines usually take between 5-10 minutes to get through as well and if you get food plan on waiting another 15 on top of that. Everyone is very nice except the older guy was quite rude one time when I was in. It’s typically packed with no seating available. There are better options.
