Morningstar is a local brunch spot nestled in the Culver-Merchants neighborhood in Rochester you don’t want to miss! Just had the most delightful brunch experience here with my partner. This is a family run, Greek American restaurant with a casual, old-timey feel. The lady hosting and serving us couldn’t have been more pleasant, welcoming and attentive. We both had one of the specials with Greek yogurt drizzled with honey and topped with pomegranates - one of the best things I’ve eaten in the past year - as well as over medium eggs topped with tzatziki and feta, served over spinach dill rice with a side of oregano French bread toast and fresh fruit. The food had vibrant flavors and was just the right amount to feel satisfied but not too heavy.I highly recommend this place if you want a relaxing weekend brunch spot with delicious Greek American food and a delightful atmosphere. (Cash or check only).

I can't recommend this place more. Great breakfast, at a great price.Ended up trying this place since they were right down the street and ended up going on a weekly basis. If you're in town, I HIGHLY recommend.

This is one restaurant that I will never go back to. The woman (owner?) who seated us had such an attitude. We ordered an item that needed a substitution and we were going to be charged an extra $2.00. There should not have been an upcharge. The table was filthy and the woman went away huffing and puffing. This should have told us something. We ended up walking out.

It's alright and kind of gives you the feel of a ma and pa diner with something of a Mediterranean flavor; and usually you get what you pay for ...the food is passable to good. They might assume that Americans prefer less spicy; because that's what it tends to be. Feel that they would be better off changing to buffet style rather than table service.. .think that it just misses being cozy and warm; which is a shame

My service dog and I were greated in a somewhat chilly manner. I almost felt unwelcome. I admit to being sensitive when it comes to my service dog. But most people who have them are.The food was good and on time. My meal with my friend was very pleasant. Additionally, the place was very clean though.

Morningstar is a bit of a hidden gem in Rochester and one of a handful of Greek diners left around. The food is excellent and the service is very personable. I love having an easy spot in the neighborhood that I can pop into for a quick bite. No frills, just exactly what I need. And don’t forget cash! No credit cards accepted here.

This is a cute restaurant with great ownership, cool atmosphere, beautiful plants, and fantastic food. It's everything you would expect in a Greek-American diner and more because of all the unique homemade specials.
