A greta classic of Rochester. Perhaps the only place with a true European flair and service. It is a well kept secret of polite and fun crowd. The food is usually excellent. I have never had a complaint.

Girlfriend and I went to Rooney’s last night for Valentine’s Day. Every thing we ordered was cooked perfectly and delicious. We had the plantain crusted shrimp with mango salsa, salads, and beef tenderloins with potatoes and brussel sprouts. Excellent service. Can’t wait to go back!

Impeccable service. Meal (steak) was perfectly cooked. Creme brulee was served split. Didn't see that coming. Intimate atmosphere is perfect for date night ❤️ Accessibility could be improved upon.

When restaurants ensure a sub par experience by cramming paying customers in a “let’s stick a table here”, heavily trafficked walkway, they’re obviously going for their own bottom line by sacrificing the diner’s comfort. We were hoping the food would over ride the abysmal environment. Not so. Expensive evening of irrigation.Vegetarian options: Flavorless

We booked three weeks in advance and were hoping for a special meal with my husband's parents who were visiting for the last time before our son graduated college. We were seated in a heavily trafficked walkway after requesting one of the two open available tables and were told no. So we stayed and ordered, not wanting to cause a fuss. We were then severed tough steak with dull steak knives, a flavorless Root vegetable cassoulet and a 10 year tawny port served as a 20 year. We were bumped into twice during our meal and had a table of obnoxious loud talkers to the right of us and slightly elevated to enhance their conversation regarding cats. Brutal dinner experience and disappointing evening.

I love coming to Rooney's! The service is always excellent, the food is always excellent and it feels cozy and not at all pretentious like so many other places. I've had the duck and scallops escargot and plantain shrimp. The duck is consistently cooked perfectly and the scallop portion was very sizable for the price. The escargot is so creamy and savory! I love it here. Consistently great service and food. Not much else necessary to say!

Visiting the area. Staff were attentive and helpful, knowledgeable, and professional.Salmon ratatouille was fabulous. Crab cake was delectable.Restaurant was loud with a crowd but quieted later on.It's a bit pricey. Absolutely worth it, but be prepared.

I had arugula salad, pan seared scallops and vanilla bean cream brûlée. Not flashy just perfectly prepared foods. Best scallops! They melt in my mouth. We will definitely be back to this place.
