Perfect meals, perfect service wonderful atmosphere! Had the burger, the cutlet, french onion, the simple salad, the gnocchi, the seared cod, and the cheesecake! And lots of cocktails. All were superb! Can’t wait to go back! What a gem!

I’ve been several times and overall it is very good. This most recent time though, my steak was so tough that I was about to just abandon it. The fork wouldn’t even go through it. Hopefully they can do a bit better on quality of ingredients.

Highly recommended! I've been working in Rochester for about a week and have tried most of what are considered to be the best restaurants here-- my favorite by far is Roux. It's very comfortable for a solo diner (I ate at the bar) and reasonably priced for the quality (excellent steak au poivre is $34). My tab was around $95 before tip, incl. 10 oysters, a few drinks, an espresso and some absinthe.

Stopped in last night at 5:00 when they opened, seated right away by host, we didn't have a reservation, which I recommend as the place filled up. Server Duane appeared quickly, took our drink orders and gave us the specials for the day. I had the Cheeseburger with fries, side salad, my friend had the escargot, and the gnocchi. Food was just incredible, I don't think I've had a burger this good. Bill for 2 was $90.00 so pricey, but the service was great (thanks Duane, you're the best), food was delicious, and place has great atmosphere, definitely going back, thanks for the great meal.

Not sure why they can never fulfill a take out order. Always told no, pretty ridiculous.

Well, we haven't been here in a while and liked the new decor. Roux is always a nice surprise when it comes to menu items! First, we'd like to thank the bartender who recreated a rusty nail for my husband when they had no Courvoisier. Wow, what a wizard. Perfect drink. First was the beet salad which was very large and enough for two. Seasoned so nicely and just a beautiful dish. I had the Fried Chicken Cutlet and loved it (It was huge) but the coleslaw stole the show for sure. Hubs had muscles and loved them, and ate all the broth as well! We ate on a Friday night at 5:45 and the place filled up. Service was wonderful and the place was lively and fun. We will go again for sure! PS. Always make reservations!

Greetings Rochester food fans! Roux is another overrated Rochester let down. To start, Wednesday night is Oyster night and when we arrived at 6 pm there wasn't an oyster to be had but that was not the first let down in this dining misadventure. The first was the cold welcome from the lumbersexual host. After this confused clown begrudgingly seated us, we waited over fifteen minutes before a server showed up to take our drink order. We placed our drink order and were notified they were out of oysters on oyster night. I am trying to figure out how you run out of the night's featured item in the first hour of being open. After this letdown I was hoping for an improvement but alas, that was not to be. Our drinks showed up but for $14 and no alcohol in my drink, they could have served a little more or lowered the price because it was alcohol free. Not cool and not providing value for the money. We ordered a salad and before I could order a bowl of soup the server walked away. Again more letdowns. The salad was overpriced, simply dressed and completely lacking in any finishing touch. Next were the main dishes, the Parisian Gnocchi and a Steak Au Poiuve. The gnocchi showed up in a tiny plate with very few. The taste was alright but again the dish was lacking any style or true substance. It looked thrown together with little care or effort. The steak, a 7 ounce cheap cut of sirloin was rather tough. The fries were straight from a bag and again the dish looked thrown together and not finished with any pride. Roux is overpriced, overrated and typical of the post COVID pandemic of mediocrity. The ambiance is nice but that does not provide for a tasty well put together meal. I personally will never go back because there is no value or good service for the money they charge and there's no oysters on Oyster Wednesday!

The people working at roux made me reconsider my original review. Abigale, Daniel, Jose, are the ones I interacted with and they were so kind to me I want to move in.

There is romantic atmosphere. Food and French Wine are perfect. It is an old building, and so great for dating-dining?

This was our second time dining at Roux, and feel I can confidently say every single drink, appetizer, and main dish was outstanding. We love the cozy atmosphere, the staff are kind, personable, knowledgeable, and professional, and Roux will be one of our favorite places in town for special occasions and date nights.

Visited Roux when in Rochester to visit my niece. The owner was very pleasant and gracious. Food was exceptional. Enjoyed one of the specials which was a citrus salad with pomegranates and a champagne vinegar dressing. My entree was a chicken cutlet served with a mustard dressing and salad greens. Best chicken cutlet I have ever had. Highly recommend eating here. Loved the atmosphere and our server was excellent!
