Dinner with another couple on a gorgeous summer evening. The place was very empty when nearly every other restaurant on the street was packed. Waitress seemed put out that we wanted to sit at the outside table when everyone else picked inside. The cocktails were nondescript. The food was ok-not bad, not great. And we didn't bother with dessert (went elsewhere). This was once a hopping place, on a street where the food scene has stepped up its game 100-fold. They need to step up their game.

The Hideaway was the perfect place to hold a private event for my sister's wedding shower. The professionalism and execution was flawless. We encounter this place walking on a snowy Sunday afternoon in the neighborhood. We wanted Brunch, and that is exactly what we got. Skillet Breakfast with Egg Whites full of Bacon,Sausages,Potatoes,Hollandaise( this added that extra touch). It was delicious. A Vegetable Panini was our other order. Ciabatta roll full of Eggplant, Tomatoes, Roasted Peppers, Mozzarella. Good too. Mimosas to compliment the meal. Cannoli for dessert. The ambiance is rustic, informal, relaxed. Service was attentive.

This is a great farm to table restaurant located with great food and service. The day we were there for lunch they had just opened and only had one person working (every place is shorthand) doing host and waiting tables. He was busy, but still did a great job. Menu has great options and is reasonably priced. Food came out quick and did not disappoint.

The Hideaway has been one of our go-to restaurants for years. Whether for a date night or friends/family visiting Rochester for the first time, The Hideaway has proven to be a staple in the Rochester community for quality food and a great atmosphere. So when we discovered that the Hideaway had a catering business and worked with Arbor venues, we had to oblige for our wedding. And I will say, they did not disappoint. Max, the owner of the Hideway, took the lead in our planning process. We had many sessions with Max where we went over appetizers, main dishes, and dessert options. We brainstormed about what would work for a wedding of our size (initially close to 300 and then due to COVID was reduced to 175 persons). The options were endless but Max was able to help us narrow down our choices in a way that reflected who we are and what we wanted for our wedding. He was very professional and upfront throughout the entire process. And even when we had to put our initial wedding plans aside due to the pandemic, he regularly checked in on us and made sure that we were not only doing ok and in positive spirits but also that he was 100 percent behind us when we were ready to plan again. His honesty, attention to detail, professionalism and most of all, his delicious food was a highlight of our entire experience with the Hideaway. From our first meeting to our event, we were never disappointed with Max and the Hideaway. Our guests were BLOWN AWAY by the delicious food, the array of options and the speed by which they were served. We were so happy with everything about the Hideaway and we are so glad we chose them as our caterer for the event. We highly recommend Max and his team for any wedding or event (micro or macro) and we are so blessed to continue to have a strong relationship with Max and the Hideaway

The Hideaway catered my bridal shower this past weekend and I will never ever stop recommending them. The food is delicious, and Max, the owner, worked with me for over a year and half (COVID times) to make sure I had everything I needed to make the day special. Best service I have ever received from a vendor, hands down. Can’t wait to make visits to the Hideaway a regular occurrence this summer!

I was so excited to come into this cute restaurant right near park. My mom said it used to be SO good. We went there on a Wednesday night there was not many people there which was great. Our waitress asked what we wanted to drink we got a glass of wine and water. When we received the water it had black particles at the bottom so we asked the waitress if we could have another clean glass. She then poured it out then filled the same glass up with ice and gave it back to us. Okay whatever at least the particles are gone but still kinda gross. After drinking one glass of wine we wanted more and our waitress ignored us until we had to go find her. The chefs aren't trained whatsoever which is not fair to them! This place has potential. The owner also did not seem to care at all that our experience was not a good one. He just said you don't need to pay for it then we left.

Concerned with food quality and lack of desire to alter it in the young bartender. Ordered wedge with chicken. Best thing on there was shaved Parmesan. Dry burnt chicken and nothing else other than lettuce and dressing Should have left it...lesson learned!

The Hideaway has been a COVID staple for me, and I love everything I've gotten! They do great takeout orders (which we know isn't always the case). I love their burgers - I've gotten a few different kinds, but honestly the regular burger is amazing! Also, the to go cocktails are a great addition for my Friday meals. Appreciate this place and love the food!
