The Old Toad is one of our personal favorites. "A pub from over there, over here." And aren't we lucky! Great British food, every time. With a delicious pint on the side.

Walked in last night with my boyfriend. There was a sign that said Wait to be Seated, so we did. We waited for 10 minutes, multiple staff members saw us standing there and did not come to greet us. Eventually we left as it was clear they were not interested in our business. Very sad as I used to love this place, but we won't be back.

The old Toad is about as authentic as it gets this side of the pond, the fish and chips were fabulous but the mushy peas were the real shining star of the plate! I studied abroad in the UK and these mushy peas were among some of the best I have had. Service was slow but the bartender and servers were nice. Great little spot for a pub experienceVegetarian options: Mushy peas are great, they also have some vegetarian options

Bangers and mashed are out of this world amazing. Their chips are the best around. Whiskey list is extensive. It's never busy when I go there. One of my favorite places, it's a total gem.

We didn't get food, but in the past the food has always been spot on for British Food. It's a great place to actually have a conversation.

To my knowledge the only place in Rochester to get a scotch egg, and the only place that does actual shepherds pie with lamb (when made with beef it's cottage pie). The beer selection is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the staff are always friendly and awesome! The only thing I wish is that the portions were a bit more generous.

The fish fry was amazing. The fries however were very over cooked. Server was nice and as attentive as she could as she was running the bar and serving tables.

Staff were friendly and food was good even though it took a very long time. I was disappointed they had no cask beers on tap but still found another tasty option. Hopefully they will be able to bring back students from overseas again as that was always something to look forward to meeting someone from across the pond. All in all it is still a decent place to go to once in a blue moon. I might come more if a deep cleaning happens as the carpets and booths are stained and tables dirty looking.

I'm so happy this establishment survived the last several years. One of my favorite spots to visit when I was in school and when I return to visit!
