Note that we are from a family who just arrived here from Germany, so our opinions may differ from people residing here more time.We appreciated the hostess who was friendly and cheerful. The ambiance was nice. The beer, tasted like real German beer. The food slightly resembled food in Germany, but only ever so slightly. If it hadn't come with the names of German food: Schnitzel, Käsespätzle, Curry wurst, Brezel, Pommes (the last 2 were on menu as pretzel and French fries) or in a German restaurant, I wouldn't have assumed it was German food. I'd recommend coming for drinks, but eating somewhere else.Adding some pictures so our friends in Germany can see what American German food looks like. To be fair, generally, American food also did not taste the same in Germany as in America.

The outside area has a fantastic ambience... You're a dozen steps below street level almost in a sunken beer garden with a nice big wooden tables and a fireplace at one end Decent beer selection although not overwhelming... Available in two sizes a half a liter or liter , wine and cocktails are also an option. Menu is limited if you are vegan or even vegetarian... And service is incredibly slow. They are appeared to be maybe two waitresses for both inside and outside as well as a bartender. If you need to be somewhere at a certain time this may not be your best option for a meal. Food arrived quickly but we finally had to go inside to search for our check. If you check in on yelp you're offered a 10% off your bill coupon which they DOES NOT ACCEPT so don't plan to use it it

In my search of trying to find the best burger around, I've found this place to be at the top of the list. Amazing food all around, but I feel the burger and chicken sandwich here to be excellent.This place has a small group of really amazing staff, who are very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. This is honestly one of my favorite places to quickly stop into, especially on the way to see a film at The Little.

When you know your stuff, you can have a small menu and do it well. Loved the food, they had my favorite Down East Cider and they were playing my kinda music. I couldn't have wanted better! Definitely made the day trip to Rochester worth it!
Friendly staff, bartender and server very attentive. Food was good - we had burger, fish sandwich, awesome Brussels sprouts and a soft pretzel with beer cheese (which was enough for 4). Only critique is it's kind of loud and brightly lit, so doesn't have much atmosphere inside for evening drink/dinner- the outdoor seating in "sunken" patio in nice weather is nice.

We went because we had superb German sausage for our first visit but this second visit was not as good as the first time we came. Maybe it depends on some special event or the chef? (Don’t know)Good service, nice environment and music. Good experience generally.

We had a nice selection of beers and a lovely warm pretzel. Both excellent. The server behind the bar was nice and friendly. Prices were good, for what we got. All in all it is a place I would return to many more times when in the city. Overall, everything is nice. I highly recommended this place. Must try.
