Title: Unacceptable Treatment and Lack of Response at Wegmans on Calkins Rd
Review:
I visited Wegmans on Calkins Rd on April 7th, expecting the usual excellent service I've come to rely on. However, my experience turned sour due to the behavior of a Wegmans employee.
Upon reaching self-checkout, I scanned all items in my cart, as is standard practice. However, I was informed by the cashier that I needed to use bottle return slips at the customer service desk for a few items. No problem, I thought, and proceeded to cash out. As I walked the mere 10 feet to the customer service desk, I was suddenly accosted by a Wegmans asset protection employee.
In an extremely rude manner, he whispered in my ear, "hey bud, did you scan everything this f’ing time." Shocked and upset by his inappropriate question, I asked him what his problem was. Instead of an apology or explanation, he continued to stare at me, clearly mocking my American flag sweatshirt and "Let's go Brandon" hat.
To add insult to injury, he then told me I am trespassing and said I will be banned me from all Wegmans stores for two years. This unjust treatment left me feeling humiliated and disrespected, especially considering my long-standing loyalty to Wegmans.
In an effort to address this issue, I reached out to corporate Wegmans the following Monday and continued to do so every day thereafter. Unfortunately, I received no response, leaving me feeling even more disregarded and undervalued as a customer.
As someone who has never encountered any issues at Wegmans before and who relies on the store as a one-stop-shop for my family of seven, this experience was deeply disappointing. It has shattered my trust in a brand I once held in high regard. Wegmans must do better in addressing customer concerns and ensuring that all employees uphold the values of respect and professionalism.
I have spent $11,562.65 at Wegmans stores since January 2023

Wegmans just does not care about service any longer. Love showing up and seeing 10 people in line at the pharmacy. They are taking it in through the pharmacy and they have one cashier. Wegmans is now just expensive garbage

Terrible service, don't go here. Food is bad too. I didn't realize hummus cost extra, they didn't let me know, and said I couldn't get any meat. Didn't accommodate me whatsoever.

1st time I’ve been back in a year. The fresh food area has changed for the worse. Now you get the food and have to go through the register lines to pay then come back and eat. Very disappointed.

There's a lot of other things wrong with this store, very dirty bathrooms, the bathrooms looked and smelled awful today, the employees were dragging metal chair across the floor while people were in their lounge the other day, they use the outside tables for inside seating, the managers are very manipulative it used to be a good store until upper management started drifting away from Wegmans Policies. It's unfortunate but good thing there are other options! There are many more options and the prices are rediculous I've seen people spend $250 and only get like 10 things. The store is a drag and it's under bad management. Poor leadership.

Wegmans staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Fruits and vegetables are always fresh and clean and they have a plentiful variety. Stores are clean and they are very good to their employees. I think their prices are reasonable and have good sales.

Underwhelming...for 28$ I got 2 tiny boxes. The pizza was cold like ice. The wings were also lukewarm but I like them that way.

The best Wegmans in the country. Getting ready for 18 of us to be in the middle of no where, laughing, cooking sipping, smokin cigars and for my youngings these brand new KRTS I got. 25 a piece. Real deal

With a large sign clearly placed at the entrance to the Chili Paul Wegmans, I saw two couples, both with a child in tow, none of whom were wearing masks. Not cool, Wegmans.
I've ordered subs throughout the U.S., and nobody makes a bigger, better sub than Wegmans. The story is that Danny Wegman was so impressed by a local shop's subs that rather than try to copy them, he paid the owners to have their staff teach Wegman's Subs Shop staff, and now every Wegman's sub shop employee is taught to rigorously adhere to that training. The result is that everyone I've discussed this with agrees that, without a doubt, they make the best subs in the U.S. - period.
