As a local to this part of town, I have eaten here countless times. The food has been consistently of good quality and taste. The staff is pleasant and hardworking people. The sitting area near the water is very atmospheric and fits nicely with that Rockaway Beach" vibe. The inside seating area is very nice as well. It's nice that the restaurant provides both as an option.

The Wharf Bar and Grill in Rockaway offers a delightful dining experience with its exceptional steam and eggs. The combination of flavors is superb, and what sets it apart is the incredible value for money. The portioning is generous, especially with the steak - a savory indulgence that provides both quality and quantity. The Wharf delivers an excellent balance of taste and value, making it a standout choice for those seeking a satisfying and budget-friendly meal.

A bit hard to find (it's behind the Gulf gas station and if you're coming from the higher streets, you'll need to go past it two lights to make a u-turn) but it's a great place for a night out or a private party. I had the benefit of visiting during a warm December night and had a blast. The bar has ample options though I am not sure they have food as I was there for an outside catered event, so check before going if that's important. The bartenders are great.♿ There are narrow entrances, multiple levels (I suspect it's been added on over the years) and the restrooms aren't accessible, so it's not the most friendly place for anyone who would benefit from those features.

Food. We got the mussels in both red and white sauce with garlic bread - highly recommend. Two bowls for a table of five and it was just right. We got the hanger steak sandwich and the pot roast grill cheese on sourdough, hanger steak sandwich was the best but both were delicious. Service. Amazing as always. Ambiance. It is on the bay, nuff said. Gorgeous city skyline view.

Long wait for a table on summer evenings but worth it. We decided to drink and eat at the bar. Two out of three of shrimp wrap was excellent. Wine and drinks were on point.

The best bit is the views. As tourists we took the NYC ferry from Manhattan to Rockaway which was brilliant. Especially for just $4 for nearly an hour each way. The view to Manhattan from the restaurant was fantastic on a hot sunny lunchtimeThe food was okay and a bit more expensive than expected. The big issue was that the place is cash only. But they had atm which charged a fee. We did not realise until we sat down and read the menu. If we had known earlier we would have ate somewhere else.

Comfortable local spot that draws a crowd from land and sea. Located directly on the Rockaway Inlet on the north side of Rockaway Island, this spot is close to the beach but sheltered from the wind and sand. The mostly outdoor dining deck features prompt, friendly service and amazing water views of the inland waterway and Manhattan in the distance beyond.People boast of amazing sunsets, but our visit was overcast. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a pair of satisfying dinners. I had the steak sandwich, which was hot and cheesy, and she had the fish tacos. I’m a carnivore at heart, and my sandwich was good, but the fish tacos stood out as more exceptional. The crispy, fried cod (?) was light, tender and flavorful - not in the least bit fishy. Finely shredded cabbage and a light sauce made these really nice. But it’s the dockside decor and waterfront views that set this place apart - like a vacation spot without leaving Queens!Kid-friendliness: There were some children present as well as teenagers & young adults. Plenty of old codgers, too - a healthy & uncommon mix.

I was excited to eat here because I used to love it but had a horrible experience the last time I went. We arrived at 8:46 and the hostess told us the kitchen closed at 9 and they weren’t going to seat us. We asked kindly to see if we could still be seated since we saw two people get seated right before us. The waitress immediately became annoyed at the question and went “to check” even though we watched her do no such thing. We waited for a few minutes and eventually went to ask once again if they could seat us. The waitress rolled her eyes and that was our last interaction as we immediately turned and left so offended by the whole interaction. So sad that this restaurant has stooped to this level of service.

Imagine an English muffin with tuna scrapped out of a can with a burnt Kraft singles cheese on top. That was my tuna melt. Food is not good but nice outdoor dinning area.

Amazing chicken sandwich, however waiter would not wait for us to finish speaking before walking away, therefore causing her to run back and fourth grabbing items instead of just waiting for literally 10 seconds.

The service here is very nice, friendly and caring. We had wonderful interactions with one of the bartenders, the hostess and the waitress. And the meal was delicious. Can't beat the views! Full city views and sunset. Absolutely phenomenal. What a spot! Can't wait to return. Thanks to all for making the experience so enjoyable. The Wharf is a gem.

Kelsey was a great server. Food was pretty good. View was magnificent. Some complaints/suggestions. Don’t put MP on lobster roll; tell the person who ordered it what the price is. Very deceptive. Cash only. Annoying. Don’t like using ATM’s in bars. Also tax included in price so one ends up tipping on the tax. Not cool. But oh that view!Parking: Hard to park
