It was very busy and we were seated in the middle of the room. Noise level made it hard to have conversations. They must have been short handed in terms of help. Service was not great Food was okay but plentiful

Asked the hostess a simple question of where I am on the list. She told me you can have a drink. Told her that I did not ask if I should buy a drink and repeated the question. She was annoyed and frustrated. It's a service business young lady. Waiter forgot to bring apps prior to delivering the meal. When I said that we want the app's and that we will not accept the meals reheated, rather we want them alL cooked again, he was nasty to me and was out of line. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE FOOD WAS AWFUL! GLAD YOU GUYS ARE GOING AWAY. YOU ARE ALL SPENT AND JUST NOT CABALE ANY LONGER OF R LONGER CABALE OF PROPER SERVICE. BYE BYE!

The JollyFisherman sadly is closing their doors after 67 years of service to our north shore Long Island community. It is a landmark restaurant that I have driven by for decades and had to go for one last time before this era ended. Evan was our waiter and outstanding. The food was excellent and desert amazing. I don't remember when I enjoyed every course throughly as I did at the JollyFisherman. Looking forward to seeing their cookbook. Thank you for the delicious memories.

Exceptional experience. Food and service was outstanding. Great seafood menu and the filet mignon was great. Service couldn't have been better. We went for birthday of woman 94 who used a walker and staff was extremely helpful. It is an expensive restaurant but well worth it for a special occasion. Unfortunately the owner is retiring and they will close after June 25th and a new owner intends to convert it to an Italian restaurant.

Excellent lunch! We were served quickly and the food was outstanding. So sorry this restaurant is closing!!! It has been our “special events” place to go for years. You can't beat their food and they make the best fish, no matter what you order!

Since 1957 the Jolly Fisherman & Steakhouse has graced Roslyn. Sadly, they are closing for good June 25, 2003. Bartender was phenomenal today. Food in dining area was very good. Goodbye Jolly Fisherman !

So sad to know that this very necessary FISH institution is closing on June 25. The fish is always fresh and delicious. Service is usually on point. And the full luncheon is a decent value. Make your reservation today for a last hurrah. The last thing that this area needs is another Italian or steak restaurant. Hear that and learn, Pietro's.

Great atmosphere with a beautiful view of the pond that leads to a very relaxed dinner. Service was very professional and not having you rush thru your meal. Food was prepared perfectly. So sorry this class restaurant is closing.

Great dining experience. Prices everywhere are up but the Jolly Fisherman still gives you all the extras... veggie tray, full bread basket (amazing variety and very fresh!) plus both veggie and potato choice with your entrée. One of the few nice places that gives you a full meal - all freshly cooked, hot and generally wonderful! Service was great. Atmosphere is lovely. The whole place has a really nice vibe. Highly recommend!

The best restaurant on Long Island. Have eaten there many times. Never a bad meal. Always excellent service.

We've eaten at Jolly Fisherman many times; we've even had a party in one of the side rooms, so we had an expectation of excellent food. Unfortunately, my husband's red snapper was kinda blah, and my broiled fisherman's platter was just okay. Disappointing, considering the prices and reputation. I must say, though, that the service was impeccable. We were seated almost immediately (we had a reservation) at a lovely table with pond views. And our waiter was attentive and helpful (we had ordered the creamed spinach, disliked it immensely, and when we told the waiter, he immediately asked if he could replace it - TIP: Don't order the creamed spinach!)

I grew up in Roslyn. This is the restaurant where I first tasted lobster in the 1960's. The lobster stuffed with shrimp and scallops was phenomenal, so delicious! I've had Maine lobster in many places, including Santa Barbara, where I now live. Somehow, this lobster tastes much better. Thank you for a memorable nostalgic dinner.

Jolly Fisherman is a staple lovely restaurant. Consistent in great service, quality of food and ambience. I take exception to the overpriced meals. Yes they have their famous baked breads and vegetable tray on the table, but the price increase also took away small salads served before the meal and I won't say how the lobster prices increased. There are other restaurants that charge less for broiled salmon or Bronzino. It's removed from my go to list for now.
