Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. Easy to find street parking especially on weekends. Servers are friendly and attentive; the nigiris are our favorite - fresh and flavorful.A great spot for all types of group and look forward to coming back here again and try other dish!

I'd heard about Oko from a friend who dines out regularly and seems to be in the know about the westchester restaurant scene. I have to assume that the reg chef was off that night or someone dropped extra salt in the food. The “bowls” wax so over salted that I needed two water refills and the tempura was hard to bite into. The staff was nice and attentive but the food was not good!!!

Sushi was great but the omakase was overpriced. The dessert was particularly disappointing. There are better options in the city for $150 pp. Will go back to order from the regular menu though as sushi and service was great.

Had another wonderful dinner at Oko with my wife. A good indication of how attentive a Japanese restaurant is with the offerings is the freshness of the edamame -- just the right "bite" with very light seasoning (not salt-forward), warm but not hot, and not sitting in water. The 10 piece sushi dish was perfect, just the right size and with subtle embellishments that one can find in the best Tokyo/Kyoto restaurants. They even made an Buffalo Trace Manhattan for me and had a nice, dry sake for my wife. Highly recommended along with the chef/owner's other top notch restaurants. Special shout out to the staff as well and for José's attention to detail and great service.

Dining at OKO in Rye is always a special treat. The food is extremely refined , the atmosphere chic and cosy at the same time. What makes it my favorite Japanese in Westchester is the exceptional hospitality level of the team: Michèle the hostess seated us in that quiet corner I love, our server Abraham treated us with extreme kindness and professionalism with that perfect mix of attention and discretion. Our bar tender Jessica mixes those cocktails to perfection. Thank you to all for keeping that high standard !

Great Sushi place in the suburbs. Love their creative menu and always fresh ingredients. Personal favorites include the tempura and, from the sushi selection, the wagyu crispy, foie gras, and uni. Valentine's Day pre-fixe menu was amazing! I got the chef's selection once and didn't like the selection.

The Cedar Smoked Black Cod sushi with crispy beets, horseradish was the single most incredible bite of food I have experienced this year! It delivered on all the flavors and textures. It was smooth, and sweet, and salty, and savory, and crispy, and spicy. Just a pure delight! Every piece of sushi I enjoyed was so well balanced and delicately assembled. It was a true joy to eat.

Come for the yakitori (delicious), drinks, desert, and a nice atmosphere and service.I would not come here for sushi other than the butterflied shrimp piece, nor for the fusion dishes as they were somewhat disappointing - all show, but the taste was not quite hitting the mark.We did the omakase experience and we had a nice evening overall. The food could be better and it was both a far cry from authentic Japanese flavors, composition, and textures, as well as leaning more towards beautiful presentation rather than taste. Service was excellent, drinks were top notch, and atmosphere was nice (except the coughing children and severs banging into my chair all night due to the location of our table in the middle of the room). The sushi rice was somewhat mushy and its quantity and flavor profile overpowered the fish for almost every piece other than the shrimp. No finger wipe for between nigiri pieces, wasabi, ginger or a bowl was provided. The wagyu piece did not have enough sear in its preparation, making it more stringy than in what we have come to expect from a great sushi place, and less enjoyable. The uni shot was not really a shot and not served that way, and it did not taste great. Maine uni was used, whereas uni from Japan is preferred. Sake was served in regular glasses instead of sake glasses for some reason. The tofu in the otherwise tasty miso soup was tough and did not absorb or complement the flavor of the soup. There were a bunch of other little misses that made things not quite right here and there, but not terrible- just not excellent.

My mother and I had the pleasure of dining at Oko in Rye.Marysol and Sarah provided great service! They knew the menu inside and out and elevated our entire dining experience. Both couldn’t have been any nicer. With regards to the food. Everything was top notch. We were super impressed by the Marinated King Salmon Poke with smoked soy, white miso aioli, arugula, and nori. The Lotus Root Tempura. The Uni Toast with milk bread, umeboshi, goat’s milk butter, and smoked trout roe. The Pork Belly Boa with squid caramel, black garlic aioli, and napa kimchi. And, the Cedar Smoked Black Cod Nigiri with crispy beets, and horseradish.Oko is a small intimate space great for an evening out, serving top quality food and staffed with even greater people!!

Cooked food was saltier than we remember it (we had the bento box, ramen). Chicken skewers were moderately dry and a bit salty. Hangar steak was tender, slightly chewy. The sushi was minimally seasoned/marinated. Each piece required soy sauce even though we were advised each piece was already dressed. Rice:sushi ratio imbalanced more to rice than sushi. Rice tasted like ordinary steamed rice without any seasoning. Disappointed.

Went for our anniversary dinner. Was nicely greeted upon entering. After we sat down they gave us each a complimentary glass of champagne - nice touch. I intentionally ate light before going here because I was overwhelmed by the menu. I wanted to try a lot of different items - ended up getting 12 different pieces of sushi and ate one of my wife's rolls. Make sure you try the "crispys". The cocktails were outstanding - I had an old-fashioned and my wife had a kosho-rita (I might have spelled this wrong). She said it was the best cocktail she ever had. My wife also made a special request for negimaki (her favorite) and they accommodated. Bottom line we will be back.

We love OKO and could not be more appreciative of Marissa who is the manager at OKO along with her talented team of staff and kitchen. The food is incredible and holds up each and every time. It stands a part for the run of the mill sushi restaurants that claim to know the art of this delicate food. It's definitely worth it. Thank you OKO!

We started with a few cocktails (Paper Plane is a favorite) and chose a variety of dishes to share - shishito peppers, baos, nigiri, tempura, okonomiyaki, and yakitori, all delicious. The service was top notch and the space has a good vibe.

It's okay. Not amazing - just okay. The miso soup is excessively salty, the wild salmon nigiri had just the tiniest piece of fish, there was a fish scale in my tuna hand roll...and the spicy sauce in the spicy tuna hand roll was way too much mayo and not nearly enough spicy (it basically just tasted like mayo). For these prices the whole thing should be a bit better.
