Excellent steaks! Medium-Rare request was closer to Medium but entree and sides were fantastic. Lobster dumpling appetizer was, ok. Overall, very enjoyable, waitress was great, very expensive but just a very occasional night out for me anyway.

Hosted a company dinner here and the staff was accommodating, friendly and made us feel welcome. I would definitely recommend hosting special occasions and business dinners at this location.

Salt & Char is a special occasion experience, one we have been waiting to share for about a year. It didn't disappoint. Food was excellent and served well-spaced-out. Service was exceptional - there was always a server nearby that we could summon if necessary, but it was really never necessary because they were so on top of everything. We arrived early - 5:00 - before anyone else had been seated so the room was quiet (and a bit cold), but by the time we left at 6:45, the room had filled, warmed up and gotten a bit loud. The pricing is very high.

Wildly mediocre vs. expectations and cost. Training a new waiter who did not capture drink orders properly, ordered rare and got medium - not even medium rare, asparagus was mushy... I've never had mushy asparagus ?. It was really just ok! Mediocre. Did not live up to expectations or as billed! Won't be back - happy to dump $400 on a great meal/experience. But that was not the case with this establishment.

Food was mixed. Salad was delicious, as were the bread, cocktails, and sides. Steaks were good but not great, especially for a steak place. Decor is modern and new. Service was really poor - super slow, sloppy, and unknowledgeable. Dining room is also very loud. Wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

The food was incredible, but we had reservations at 6:30 p.m. and they were already out of two entrees. The service was painfully slow. The prices were ridiculous for the portion size and lack of included sides. The noise level was deafening, to the point that it interrupted the dining experience.

Great dinner and atmosphere. Had Wednesday fillet special and the meat was prepared perfectly. Always a great time. I was however disappointed the manager wouldn't honor a $20 credit given to me by a manager during a previous visit for a restaurant mishap. I didn't realize it expired 2 days before on 3/31. I really thought they would still honor it since we go often.

Special splurge meal with a couple buddies Started with the Broadway tower for 2 -- all the seafood was excellent. Shrimp were huge, salmon crab and Tuna were all delicious Lobster dumplings - probably the most delicious bite of the meal. It's pricy tho I got the delmonico - 16oz boneless ribeye. Perfectly cooked med rare, no complaints at all. Au poivre sauce was ok but probably could leave out Unpictured - Other friend ordered the 7oz wagyu top cap, which was described as meat butter. Sooooo tender. And the other ordered 18oz dry aged Kansas strip - meaty and flavorful. Can't go wrong with any of these Sides: Mac n cheese with lobster was wonderfully creamy and succulent, with good pieces of lobster. Brussel sprouts w/bacon was great and the only green thing in our meal. Potato dauphinoise - probably could've done without - not special Wild mushrooms was good We all also ordered a lobster tail add on to our steak -- we definitely won't do this again. Not worth the $35 for a small tail that was swimming in butter and overcooked My old fashioned was perfectly made. A friend loved his martini. Another got a Johnnie walker blue on a rock - this was a splurge that is not worth it but that was known going in The dining room consists of several smaller rooms. Our r9om had 3 or 4 tables, and a couple times was loud. But nothing too crazy. Our waitress Danielle was wonderful. Very personable and super knowledgeable of the whole menu. She offered her suggestions when asked, and checked in on us. Her helper (forgot his name) was also great and refilled water quickly. We'd suggest Salt and Char to anyone, knowing that it's not cheap. Maybe avoid the lobster add on but definitely go for the lobster dumplings.

Wait person disappeared as soon as the food hit the table The music was odd and the sound tinny. Like a radio was playing. The food was delicious but we also go for the experience. When people walk in wearing sweatpants and ball caps, it lessens that experience. This isn't about superiority but a superior experience.

Wow- this was the most disappointed I have been - 1 bartender on a Friday night?? Ridiculous- 1 waiter for 6 tables that was struggling???? Robert tried to keep up but couldn't handle it- Main courses before appetizers???? Hanging bacon before even receiving our drinks??????? The whole thing was a disaster- and, I was trying too have a farewell dinner with my adult son and his work partners! And.... We were seated for a full 10 minutes before we were even greeted by Robert whom I had to go ask hostess where our waiter was!!!! Dined here few times before while visiting- bill always over $600- will I spend that again here???? 15 Church has NEVER had the issues that S&C had Friday night at anytime I have dined there- no words can really express the irritation I had- wanted to get up and leave actually- hope they get it together before track season-

A touch on the expensive side when compared with other similar quality establishments. Still tasty but I will not be going back anytime soon.

This was a major disappointment. We ordered a $160 steak and it came unevenly cooked and overcooked. The service was awful. For us to get oysters and a steak, it took 2.5 hours. The prices are outrageous for what they are offering. We are all about spending money for great food, but this isn't it.

The food we have had there prior to the renovation was significantly better. I feel that it has lost some of its specialness There were a lot of children carrying and the food was incredibly overpriced for what we received. The salmon and the steak was very salty. Overall not a great food experience
