There aren’t many places to relatively quickly grab food in Fire Island, so it’s pretty hard to avoid Canteen. The food is hit or miss yet expensive for what you get. I did however find the burger to be good. The breakfast menu is limited yet the breakfast burrito was shockingly bland. Food aside, it’s convenient and centrally located. Perfect for a bite after day drinking by the pool or the beach.
Not sure why so many negative reviews.It's a good spot to just hang out and get light meals or coffee.I usually go here for my breakfast and they are decent.Prices are high (a breakfast sandwich is over $10). The pantry next door sells few bucks cheaper but I prefer having one from here.

Really delicious fish and chips. Yes, the prices here are expensive. Fire Island is expensive! All in all I'd say this place is cheaper than it could be and much better than you'd expect from a captive-audience setting food spot.
