This place is the real deal. Food was amazing. I recommend the chicken lunch special (roasted or stewed chicken and a bunch of awesome rice). The yellow rice is what I had, and was perfect. Oh, and the empanadas... Dude... You need to get those. This is the perfect little spot and the quintessential "hidden gem", as it is oddly placed on the side of a gas station. We are totally going to be regulars here

I went there in late September 2021 with a Groupon Voucher that was $20 off a purchase of $30.I informed the guy at the register before ordering that I had a Groupon Voucher , I ordered $30 worth of food PLUS the tax of the items; I showed the guy my voucher ,then he said: THE VOUCHER IS WRONG, IT IS ACTUALLY $3 OFF $30 PURCHASE , NOT $20 OFF $30.Such a scam. The voucher clearly stated the amount of purchase requirements and the discount off but it was not honored.While I was ordering the menu in the restaurant ( 1/3 of the items listed on the paper menu was not available to order( they didn’t have it)Menu at the restaurant is filled expensive foods and it is not worth it.I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT, DISHONEST MERCHANT!!!

Tried it for the first time. Food is very good. Will definitely go back. Staff was very pleasant. Only suggestion I have is to give a larger portion of the red beans to go with the rice, but overall, it was really good

SO…we over ordered. He was excited. We got two orders of Mofongo with pork and an order of steak w/onions that came with rice & beans.Flavor: ??Portion: ??Value: ??Mofongo could have been slightly crispier before mashing, but the flavor was good. The green garlic sauce is yummy.Rice was good…nothing special.Beans portion was oddly small.Fried pork was flavorful & fried crispy.I didn’t try the steak, but J said it was good. Very well done. I like mine medium.Overall: ????We will try again. It looks like the best way to go is the combination platters of what’s fresh in the steam trays. Today they had chuletas, pollo guisado spicy & regular, & a pork stew I think.They’ve been there two years. (I don’t get out much that way). Straight takeout. Definitely recommend!
