I ordered food for pickup. The wait time for my food was 45 mins which is really long but I'm hoping it's because it's made extra fresh! I ordered jerk wings which was pretty good. It was def different from Jamaican style jerk chickez we n because it wasn't grilled. I would have enjoyed it better if it had been grilled. It was flavorful with a slight kick. The oxtail was juicy and tender. The gravy was a lot more watery than I'm used to but it was still pretty decent. My meal was suppose to come with plaintain but instead I got carrots and celery. That was a big disappointment. The ambiance feels like a Caribbean restaurant. The music was lively and I'm aware that there's also a club in the back of the restaurant which is pretty cool. I wouldn't say I wouldn't give this a try again but I'll also be I search of more restaurants like this to come it to.

Don’t go here. Owner and his wife are both drunks, the bouncer “pimpy” is a tweak who tries to pick fights with females and minors, the dj and food is trash. when we called the restaurant for camera footage of the bouncer putting his hands on our friends, the owners wife acted very unprofessional and then called on a separate phone number attempting to threaten us.

Honestly, I went there with my family we had a good time until we were about to leave. The security follow us outside the parking lot and got physical. It was terrible. I’ll never recommend this place. Please please be careful! Terrible place!I liked it until at the ending when we were about to leave. I hope they get closed down or get better staff! Unbelievable! I recently dined at Tropics Restaurant & Bar with a party of 12 people, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Despite a promising start, the overall service, delays, and quality of the food and drinks were disappointing.Upon arrival at 1:30, we were greeted by a single female staff member who seemed to be handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously - taking orders, running the bar, and managing takeout orders. While it's commendable that she was managing these tasks alone, it ultimately impacted the efficiency of our dining experience.The first issue arose when part of our order arrived at 2:50, a substantial delay considering we had been waiting for over an hour. Even more frustrating was the fact that it took an additional hour for us to be informed that they did not have the dhal puri, a dish we had been eagerly anticipating. It begs the question of why it took so long for them to notify us about the unavailability of this item.When the food finally arrived, it was served promptly after the extended wait. However, the quality of the drinks was severely lacking. The drinks we ordered seemed watered down, leaving us with a disappointing and unsatisfying taste. Tropics is by far the worst night club i been to in New York. I went twice and will never go back. My first-time attending was with a few friends for a normal night out, we entered, they checked our ID and give us a wrist band. An hour had gone by, and my friend had to use the bathroom, the bathroom at tropic is beyond filthy so he had to go home to use his bathroom which was a block away. When he returned to re-enter, he was forced to pay a re-entry fee. Never in my life have I ever heard of a re-enter fee at any clubs. This is really a sad attempt of extortion and is totally unacceptable.My second time at Tropic was for a concert, I really should have learned from the first time. We had bought some tickets ahead of time, but we still needed to buy an extra one for someone who decided to attend last minute. We had called to find out how much the ticket will be at the door and was told it will be $50. Once we got the door to purchase the ticket the bouncer told us the ticket will be $150! We had to remind him that we called ahead of time and was told it will only be $50, then he said, “oh yeah, its $50”. After we got into the venue, it was over packed! I believe it was not up to the city code, we had to stand for over an hour before we could get a server and drinks. They were very much understaffed and who ever was even working at the time seems like they did not want to be there. Oh, and I have to re-mention, one of my friend had stepped out to get something from his car was asked again to pay a re-entry Fee!Tropics is not a place you would want to go or take anyone to. Please do not waste your time and money there, I really suggest you spend your money elsewhere. Let me not get started on the food. Overpriced and tasteless!

Food was good, pepper shrimp was 10/10, plantain was 10/10, but the fried rice was okay, a little dry! The waitress was really bad at doing her job, had a baby with me and she didn’t even offer a high chair, she barely spoke, didn’t smile not once, and when other female customers walked in she kept looking at them up and down, really weird awkward experience and worst experience I had in a restaurant, wouldn’t return
