I have been going to J & T's Cafe for many years. The food and service is always consistently good. What really takes it over the top are the freshly homade soups, which there is 6 or more varieties. Everything is prepared fresh everyday, and the best home cooked food around. The clientele that frequent this establishment are also very pleasant, which also is an indication of their satisfaction with this establishment. For those few disgruntled customers, take your frustration out on your wives or significant other. John and the crew at J & T's are aces.

We are regulars at J&T's Family Cafe. The food is great and I am always looking forward to seeing what special entrees the chef had made that day. The atmosphere is pleasant and reflects a comfortable local community. Their wait staff are always friendly and there when needed.I am writing this review so long after starting to come over to J&T because I wanted to share with you that this is a family cafe worth going to and has established itself in our home town. Note, I am updating my review... Now 5 years later.... To say it's still a great place for family, friends and work colleagues to have breakfast or lunch in the village of Scotia.

Our current family schedule has given me ample time to scope out the local diners. Today, I gave J&T's a go and they did not disappoint. Situated in a small strip mall, J&T's Family Cafe is a bustling diner with plenty of room for guests. I say "plenty" like there were seats available but I actually took the last one... way at the end of the counter, sure to be lost into the "nowhere to be found" section, but au contraire mon frère!! I was quickly found, coffee'd , and menu'd. This kitchen pumps out dishes like a well oiled machine. Calling out each order, responding with acknowledgment, and expediting with the waitresses at a professional level even Gordon Ramsay would approve. From the moment I ordered, my skillet arrived a few short minutes later. The Uncle Sam Skillet - 2 eggs over easy, Sausage, Onions, Jalapeño with American cheese and sausage gravy atop well seasoned home fries. Accompanied by rye toast. Granted, my dish was hot, well seasoned, full of great flavors, eggs nicely cooked with runny yolks, and the rye nicely toasted; I would have to say my only gripe was the use of the microwave to heat the potatoes, onions, and peppers (before the cheese, eggs, and sausage gravy were added) instead of using the oven or griddle to heat the skillet. BUT... That would probably be a pretty tall ask from a super packed, short order, diner. So, I won't fault them for it. As my waitress, Lisa, advised, "you will definitely want to return". She was right, but next time I will bring my family. 4.8/5!!

We had searched Yelp for "breakfast near me" and J & T's was among the results. As we were wanting a "home style" kind of place to dine at, J & T's fit the description. Plenty of FREE parking (lot). We had a short wait ( less than10 mins) to be seated because it seems to be a really popular breakfast place among locals. The toast, pancakes, sausage (patty and link) and eggs (over easy and scrambled) were all cooked to perfection and the service was very good, even as busy as it was. Even the coffee was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere was perfect. We are from Texas and wanted to enjoy being around locals. This was an excellent place for that! We're glad we chose J & T's and if we ever return to the area, we'll be back. Highly recommend J & T's.
