We had a good dinner for two with an appetizer and dessert. Friendly service in an old building that felt cozy. I had short ribs and we each enjoyed our dessert.Parking: Parking is on the street out front and plenty of it but it's a little challenging if you have any sort of mobility issues.

This is my favorite place in the area. The food is absolutely phenomenal. Everything is fresh, everything is crafted with care. You see it in presentation and you taste it in every single morsel. The highlight of the meal for me was the burst of flavors. Nothing was too salty. Dessert was also incredible. I am honored to have been able to experience fine dining in this little nook of the world. This restaurant is a breathe of fresh air. I also am in love with the Dunnys in the bathroom! The decor and ambiance are amazing. It’s all so clean and seamless. The staff was absolutely flawless. Water was refilled promptly, staff knew us by name due to reservation and it was overall just a superb experience.

Spur of the moment dinner while visiting family in the area. Warmly greeted, sat in lounge for a few signature cocktails while waiting for our table. Jim the host made us feel right at home from the start. The atmosphere has a hip vibe with metro touches. The menu along with the food did not disappoint. We had tasty appetizers including multiple KFC's and salads. For the entrées we had short ribs and chicken pot pies which were both amazing. Finally we indulged ourselves one more time with chocolate pudding for dessert. All and all we would return as often as we could if we did not live 3 hours away! Can not recommend more highly!Dietary restrictions: My wife is gluten free and there were many options to choose from.Parking: Parking was super convenient and close to restaurant.

Review204 Main bar and bistroAte at this restaurant last night with my husband and everything was excellent. We each had a Caesar salad with white anchovies and a very unique presentation that was delicious and filling. Dinner was short ribs that were tender-melt in your mouth. We were too full for separate desserts, so we split one.My husband had a dirty martini and I had a cocktail with hops & ginger cordials among other ingredients that I can’t remember that I absolutely loved. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Decor was urban chic. 2 entrees, 2 large salads, three cocktails and one dessert came to about $170. Pre-covid prices would have put this dinner around $110 at a restaurant of this caliber but all restaurant prices have increased, so this was a huge love for us. Will definitely return.

Wow what a nice find! Beautiful restaurant in a historic building. The food was excellent. We had three of the appetizers that were all great: caprese, cauliflower and the dates. The staff were so professional and nice as well. Highly recommend.

We go to Cooperstown every year for the Glimmerglass season. This year we added a night for a special birthday dinner. Friends recommended 204 Bistro, and it totally fit the bill. Great, interesting, innovative menu. Fun list of specialty cocktails. Charming decor. Great staff - attentive and friendly without ever seeming overbearing. A sensational meal; we would definitely come back next year!

The biggest plus about this place is that the food is beautifully prepared and tastes delicious. My main course was supposed to have been served with an asparagus side dish and it did not come. By the time I saw a server again it was too late to ask for it. The service although friendly was pretty mediocre for a highish end restaurant. The servers continually forgot which dish went with which person and had to ask multiple times, and sometimes we had to trade things around. I don't think that service is acceptable for a place charging the prices that they charge.

I went for the first time to 204 Main. It was everything I was told it would be. Food and drinks were superb. Make it a stop on your food journey.

Stumbled across Sharon Springs and 204 Main Bistro on a road trip to Cooperstown. What a find! We had the bibimbap and schnitzel- both were great. The bibimbap was a lot of food - 2 meals worth even for a big eater. Service and ambience were both excellent. We would definitely stop here again!

I had a reservation for dinner here and while the food was adequate the owner ( assumption that he was the owner) a tall thin bald headed man, was very rude and after spending money at this establishment he refused to serve my husband a drink accusing him of being drunk. Talk about being judgemental, there was no basis for this slur and when I explained that he had Cancer and difficulty speaking he reiterated his despicable slur. I guess this person is very happy with himself passing judgement on his customers who are not locals and do not fit his vision of who is "acceptable" . I hope he is happy when he sleeps at night covering himself with the very blanket of security that my husband provided when he fought for this country in Viet Nam. Hypocritical and smug with a condescending attitude and I definitely would avoid this place. In general, a business in New York State may lawfully refuse to provide service to a particular individual for any reason or no reason, as long as the business does not refuse service because the individual belongs to a member of a class protected by statute. Very disappointing from a human perspective and leaves a very bad taste regarding this town.We have been coming here since 2002 and 204 Main is the only place where we have had such an emotionally traumatising experience.
