Amazing experience!!!! The staff was very diligent and the owner may have been the nicest man I have ever met. We truly felt like we were family. I literally cannot wait to go back. The food was fresh, delicious and made us want to eat more than we could handle.

I have been going to Ho Wan for 40+ yrs. Growing up in Richmond Hill it was always the best Chinese to go to. Well I continue to revisit every time I’m back in NY as I now relocated to Ga and it’s hard to find Chinese like Ho Wan. Well coming back this time with family was a great upset. Starting from the waitress we knew something was wrong. She was new and didn’t know anything. The tea was black plain and the noodles were all broken. Horrible… The food was just OK quality went down as well as portion size and prices increased greatly and no more pistachios ice cream. Come to find out after asking for the manager the restaurant is under new management. It’s a new guyanese man. Guess my great spot of Chinese has gone. I knew when Steve left it wouldn’t be long before the place went down. Won’t be going back.

order takeout haven't ordered in a while. Wanted to treat myself big mistake. I ordered chicken, broccoli with garlic sauce and small spareribs asked for brown rice. received chicken broccoli with no garlic sauce both white rice and brown rice. Only thing that was good was the spareribs. The chicken was hard the broccoli was hard chicken had absolutely no taste to it called owner to complain. He said next time no no there's not gonna be no next time price came to $25 for two items really it will be no next time ever he said he cooked it if that's how you cook. I feel sorry for you and everybody else buying anything do not buy from this guy. I went online but he's a new owner. Food was disgusting, except for the spareribs, which are the least ones that are good. Surprisingly, they were the best but the price tag of $25 and of course they want to tip when they come to deliver not worth it too expensive very unhappy. Don't even deserve one star owner was nasty when I called I said I would return it tomorrow on my way out, he refused to take it back and exchange it , there will be no next time sir. Not in this lifetime do not buy from this place. It has changed for the worst. Nausea

Went to Ho Wan on Saturday February 24th, 2024...Yes the fish tank is gone!!! Yes there are new owners!!! Yes there is a bar where the fish tank was. Ho Wan is now updated with bright lights and new menus. I met the new owner and he is wonderful man. Many of the regular staff on still there. Sidney, Rebecca, and cooks. The service is better now then ever with a bus boy helping out. The food as always OUTSTANDING!!!! WONTON SOUP , SPARE RIBS, GENERAL TSO , FRIED RICE,ETC.. All of us know that the DUCK SAUCE IS STILL NO MATCH to any other!!!! If you went there before don't stop you will not be disappointed. My family and I been going there for over 40 YEARS!!! Things change all the time but I can say Ho Wan is trying to keep the tradition going of GREAT FOOD!!!! WILL BE BACK VERY SOON!! VINNY

Great food. I went with two other friends and ate at the restaurant. The waitress was not friendly and gave us the take out containers when we were still eating, we didn’t even ask for the containers or the check and she gave it to us regardless. She also didn’t ask if we wanted anything else to eat. We stayed for a little while longer to talk, since it’s a RESTAURANT, but the waitress and owner were constantly looking at us and seemed to be eager for us to leave. That’s not very welcoming and made us uncomfortable. Hopefully that improves.

I grew up in Richmond Hill from the mid 70s to 1999. Ho wan was always the choice for a special occasion with our family. The friendly atmosphere and dated look is part of the experience. The food has always been fresh and delicious. Never disappointed. I live in Rockaway now with my own family and I still bring them here. Recently ownership has changed hands but not worry! The new owner did some updates and upgrades but the atmosphere has not changed and happy to say the food is still delicious! I am a loyal customer for almost 50 years and now my kids have the tradition passed to them!

I went here years ago and it was great but clearly it is under new management and they suck. I ordered my meal which came quickly but once I started to eat I realized there was an overwhelming amount of burnt rice balls in my fried rice. I tried to eat around it but it was not possible. I notified the server and she had an attitude telling me to "mix it up". I'm a pretty understanding person but her attitude was terrible. I just sent it back and paid for my drink. On the way out I spoke to the lady at the front who I thought was the manager and her response was "I'm not the manager I don't know what you want me to do." It sucks that a staple in the neighborhood has gone to crap.

This place use to be the best Chinese restaurant in the area when the original owner was in charge. It has changed hands a few times and now it's Horrible. The food is absolutely disgusting. I think it's owed by Guyanese now. I ordered the pan fried noodle with beef for a delivery and what i got was dried noodle with Absolutely no sauce and no seasoning and Definitely not fried. I felt like taking it back and forcing the owner and cook to eat it themselves. Stand clear of this place. They will be out of Business soon.

Been coming here since I was a kid... We are talking 40 years.... This by far was the worst experience.... We won't be back. The chicken chow mein looked like left overs and was likely frozen before.
