This is my favorite soul food spot. The restaurant is always busy with orders. The wait is long but the food is worth it. I always enjoy my food. Inside the restaurant, they have a to go area and then the room next door has a bar and tables to sit at. I usually order take out though. I recently found out this place closed which I'm so upset about. I need to find a new soul food spot.

They fry the best fried chicken I ever tasted, however, the sides are absolutely horrible. They closed the one on Merrick, not sure about the Long Island location.

I usually order take out from here but I came one Sunday night and we had a blast! There was music, hookah and the drink were amazing. I usually order the fish but I tried the wings. Lemon pepper and sweet Chilli. No surprise the food wad good as always. The Staff was super friendly and service was fast. Def gives were a family own vibes I'll definitely be coming back in.

The food is good which is why we've had events catered in the past. I had a pre-thanksgiving event for a building of 130 Senior residents 62+ catered by them this week and it was disastrous. Firstly, the driver was over an hour late. Secondly, we couldn't get in touch with anyone on the staff during that very stressful waiting period we endured. Thirdly, when he finally arrived, he was not at all apologetic or even trying to show he was hustling. My staff and I had to take everything out of his car. I had to prompt the driver for help after which he got a major attitude, confronted me telling me to change my attitude and appeared to "walk up" to me as if he was going to hurt me. The food which we had ordered to be packaged in individual servings, not sterno/catering dishes, was packaged in plastic bags and were SIDEWAYS in the backseat of his excrement-smelling car. Yes I said it, EXCREMENT. Not sure if he stepped on something or something else was going on but his car smelled like straight up EXCREMENT . You could smell it over 130 orders of turkey/ham and sides so you know it was BAD. The car had his clothes strewn all over the place which I was pushing aside to get to the bags. Then, when we unpacked the food, about a third of it was not packaged properly -- the lids were not secured correctly leading to spillage. The Food -- as I said when I started, has historically been good. Aside from being cold because of delivery time +lateness, the food was not up to standard. Not sure if it was because this was a large order but no one was happy with the taste of the food. I agree w/ other reviewers that the mac and cheese is more noodle than anything else. The stuffing was watery, like over moistened or something. I called and finally got through to the manager Veronica or Viviene I can't remember, no apology, no cordiality. She feigned surprise that he had gotten there late and then just had a kind of "oh well, whatever" attitude. As a black-owned business ourselves, we go out of our way to support minority and woman owned businesses. This was horrible service. They have lost our company's business indefinitely.

This restaurant is closed and moving to another location on Merrick and 223rd St. Unfortunately I wasn't informed of this until AFTER placing an online pickup order and driving there on my lunch break.Walked through an unlocked door into construction underway and a nice older woman gave me the bad news. She told me they also have a Long Island location but my break was almost over by then. Currently in the process of disputing the charge with my bank. Please disable the "Order Online" option until you are operational again to prevent people making, then having to dispute transactions unnecessarily.

If you want authentic Soulfood this is the place to be. Everything is fresh and flavorful. The staff is amazing and Nae and her mom makes you feel like you a part of the family. The macaroni and cheese and Yams deserve a trophy. Lol. I love this place?

I ordered ribs with mac n cheese and candied yams, fried pork chops with spinach and black eye peas. I also ordered fried okra to eat while waiting for the ribs since they were gonna take over an hour to cook. The okra had a nice crunch but lacked seasoning and it came with no drizzling or sauce. My fried pork chops were replaced with 3 piece fried chicken because they had not received the delivery.. The fried chicken was a little soggy but had great flavor, the spinach may be a little too salty for some but I Love salt, the black eye peas were good and came with white rice which was a nice surprise..I must add that i did not eat the fried chicken right away which might have contributed to it being soggy. Will visit again

Wow I feel like calling New York City health department on them. The food was horrible. I am really sick.- two bites of meat, two spoonfuls of the sides. I could tell the food was odd tasting, especial the meat, it was like rotten.I place that food where it belongs in the trash. Shame on you southern girls for serving that garbage, never again.Horrible, horrible, horrible!
