We found this place walking around the neighborhood. It’s unassuming, simple and an institution for the area.Last time we grabbed small bags of their organic roasts for home. We like doing pour overs and espresso. My partner specifically liked the Guatemalan bean for its blueberry notes. Pricing is average or medium low in consideration of the industry.Yes, you can’t really tell when the beans were roasted as they’re not on the bag, but we had no issues or concerns. It’s from an older more classic time where specialty coffee wasn’t a thing. We’ll always pick up a bag or 2 for ourselves on the way back out of nyc.

Rude service and subpar coffee. Grew up in the area and remember when Baruir's Coffee was larger and had that amazing aromatic smell when you came through the door. Baruir and workers were always friendly and helpful. Sadly, during a recent return to the store, I was saddened to see the store half the former size but more shocked at the decline in the quality of the coffee and even more disappointed by the rude service. I first walked into a heated (at best) exchange between a younger man and I believe the daughter. Perhaps it was an unintended spill over of that argument, but I and two others before me were rudely ignored for minutes until the woman barked at him to attend to us. When it finally came to the turn of my party, mid way in preparation of our drinks, he stopped to flirt with a woman that came in and served instead of finishing with our order, attended to her. Adding insult to injury, the coffee was stale and the experience of that man only added to the bitterness of that day. Perhaps this was a fluke day that we came in on, but it was a far cry form Baruir's former days of charm, quality, and courtesy. Five-stars for nostalgia though. But two-stars otherwise.

Great fresh roasted coffee done on premises. When I'm out near Queens Blvd I'll stop in and buy a couple pounds of French roast Colombian beans. Wish they were closer to my house. They do grind lt up if you need. They have been in business for close to 60 years if not more.

OG coffee spot with incredible grounded coffee. Great value for high quality coffee. Support this small business! You would be disappointed! ☕️

Staff is unapproachable. They said the coffee was freshly roasted the same day but it's not. Regardless how many times i tweak my espresso machine it wouldn't pull the right shot. Never experienced this before from a other reputable roaster.

It's awesome that places like this can still be found out here. Aside from those fancy, pretentious cafes, this place shines as a classic, old school neighborhood coffee roaster. They roast their beans on site in the open. I spoke to the owner. You can tell he is proud of his establishment and takes pride in what they do. I got their classic blend as it has the notes I like best. Always fresh and just roasted! Never had an issue with the workers here. They're always polite whenever I go in. Prices very reasonable and great quality coffee. You can get brewed coffee here, small treats and other little items for purchase. But I usually just concentrate on getting my coffee bean supply for at home espresso. I believe they've been in business for over 50 years! I hope this place keeps on going for another 50 as places like this are very hard to find these days!

Coffee is good, I love it. Very poor quality customer service. I buy 5 Lb each week from this place and never a thank you or a smile. Today, I started looking for an other place to buy from because of that clerk behavior and the way I was treated there for 3 months being a client buying 5 LB a week.
