The best Brussels sprouts in Syracuse! Other than the sprouts, there's something on the ABB menu for everyone. All off the food features robust & unique flavor pairings. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the menu so, if you have questions, don't be afraid to ask. The atmosphere is very welcoming & reflects the nature of the food. Not flashy, not basic, just comforting and well executed. I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is the best food in the city.

Haven't been in this building for a long time and I always remembered it as being beautiful and the new owners have done a wonderful job of resorting the space. Especially love the original floors that they have uncovered. I'm not a vegan, vegetarian or gluten free so I did some homework before I came to see what I would like from the menu. Some of my fellow lunch mates ordered appetizers so I got to try the pickled vegetables and lentil chili with potato wedges. I thought the pickled vegetables were great and especially liked the pickles! The lentil chili was good but a little bland and the wedges were crisp and ok. For my main dish I ordered the Mac and cheese with a side of bacon jam. I thought the Mac and cheese was creamy and good and the bacon jam was great! I really liked my drink which was called "Fired Up" it was cinnamon apple, semi-sweet hot cinnamon and cloves. If you like red hots candies (which I love) you will love this drink!!! Very pleasant experience for lunch! Spoke to one of the owners after lunch and she was telling us the history of the building that it was H.J Howes jewelry store originally.

Beautiful historical atmosphere, but many modern touches, like white walls new clean lines on the tables, chairs and lighting fixtures. Everyone was very welcoming and service was very good. I got the "It's Pink" drink...7%abv and a little sweet, which I like. My appetizer was vegan Lentil Chili- very good flavor ..a little bit of spice and I couldn't even tell the sour cream and cheese were cashew based. The wedge potatoes were a bit overcooked, but the crunch was nice with the creamy chili. Tried some of the pickled appetizer....the pickled carrots and Daikon were perfect...crisp with a deep pickled flavor. My Roast Pork Bowl was very flavorful...nice tender pork, roast sweet potatoes, crunchy cabbage and sunflower seed added a bit of sweetness.

Fantastic restaurant! Great food and wonderful selection of gluten-free brews. The Root Less Traveled was a favorite, nice mix of sweet potato and pie spices. It was a real treat to eat at a dedicated GF restaurant. It's nice to not have to worry about what you are eating. Crispiest fried chicken I've had in years. Highly recommend.

This spot was okay. I don’t drink, but my coworkers got some beverages and, other than the wine, were not happy with how sweet they were. The food was okay. I got the Buffalo wings, which I will say are like a hot wing not Buffalo sauce. I let my brother try them (I brought them home because I couldn’t eat them) and he loves spicy things! He even agreed if he ordered Buffalo he would not expect something with as much heat as there was. The atmosphere was definitely more of a formal dining spot than a place to grab drinks with coworkers.

Wasn't a fan. I've never had Salt potatoes but these were *burned* and I don't think they were supposed to be. The blueberry "ketchup" that comes with it was the consistency of water. The pickle shareable claimed it had pickled fruit, which was the reason we ordered it since we were curious what fruit gets pickled, and were sorely disappointed that there was none to be had, but that "next week there would be". The chicken sausage entree's portion size was unbelievably small and didn't even come with a side salad to make up for the fact that it was $23-$25. The Cuban and the turkey/apple sandwiches came on plantain tostones which sounded great as an alternative to a bun, but when they arrived, they were burnt on the edges and completely inedible due to having no moisture what's so ever and we're so hard you could barely bite through it--no amount of sauce could have solved this issue. The fries were crisp, but seemed to have been cooked in oil that wasn't hot enough and then cooked longer to get the crunch but this meant the fluffy insides of a fry one expects was no where to be found. The sweet potato fries seem to be double-battered but somehow the sweet potato underneath was also overfried while the batter/breading on the outside seemed to somehow be undercooked. The saving grace of the meal was the cashew cheesecake with cherry compote which was actually pretty good we all shared. There were flights of seltzers and beer to be had, of course, which were fun to taste (Fired Up tastes like apple cider), but overall the experience left something to be desired. The place was almost completely empty of patrons when we got there, and when we left.

We were in town for our granddaughter graduation and had a party of 12 with reservations. They seated us and it took 30 minutes just to take our drink order. I it took another30 minute’s before the drinks came. We placed our order and it took 2 HOURS before our food came. All the burgers were NOT prepared as we ordered AND 1 order didn’t come until the rest of us were finished with our meal, 2 and a half hours later. We were extremely disappointed in the service, the food was bad and one of the managers tried to justify all the poor service and poor quality and never once made any attempt to adjust the bill. Then one of the owners came out and tried to justify the poor service, poor food and poor attitude. We will never eat there again

If you are looking for unique flavors, you got it. To appreciate sip the water or your flavor pallet will be confused. Our bartender and server were the best

I don’t usually leave reviews, but our experience at this restaurant was terrible. While the food was good, the service was awful. There was a total of 6 tables, including our party in the restaurant. Our drinks and meals were very slow to come out. When our food finally came out, the server realized that she forgot to put in one of the orders. She did apologize and admitted to her mistake; however, it was both concerning and amazing to me that it only took 5 minutes to put the missing order together after the rest of the meal was painstakingly slow to come out. Also, there is no kids menu, so not really a family friendly place.

Slow service, burnt food, rude server. If your food comes to the table burnt and cold, the last thing you want to hear come out of your servers mouth is, "no one is forcing you to eat it". Extremely unprofessional.

My sister came to town and thought we'd try something different. When we got there, the atmosphere was off and the area with the bar was closed off. We waited 40 minutes just to get waters and 2 hours for cold food. None of use really ate anything because it was ice cold and it was not cheap either. Expensive when we didn't eat and waited so long. only giving a 2 star because I'm pretty sure the food was cold due to only being one chef for the entire restaurant. Very disappointed

We enjoy supporting local craft breweries, and eating a healthier way, which made Anything But Beer a PERFECT date night choice. We spent a Saturday evening sampling the craft drinks and tasting the food here. Michael, our server, provided EXCELLENT service. The building was beautifully restored from the 1800's. Without realizing it, we spent several hours enjoying ourselves. VERY DIFFERENT from traditional craft breweries, but definitely worth a stop.

Came on Sunday, February 13th with a group of six women. We made a reservation for 1:30PM brunch. When we arrived, the hostess pointed out our table, which just needed to be wiped down--no one was sitting there. This took 15-20 minutes. When we were finally seated, the server only brought five menus. The food took over an hour to come out of the kitchen--it was ~3PM by the time we received it, and we were very hungry. We were sorely disappointed then, by the portion sizes of most of the food (breakfast burger was okay for 1/6, everything else was too small). The majority of us left the restaurant still hungry. The atmosphere and drinks were nice, but I would miss this place for service and food.

Walk in with reservations and are sat immediately. Owner? was waiting tables. He commented on how the hostess didn’t bring us silverware and seemed annoyed. He described the menu because it was a special Valentine’s menu. Talked up a beer that he brewed himself and my gf ordered it. She tried it and couldn’t stomach the taste. She thought maybe she just didn’t like it. Ordered a flight of the house brewed gluten free beer. All three were undrinkable. Got the Cashew Fondue and it was actually really good but it is more like hummus. Not fondue. My gf got the vegan burger. I got steak and mushrooms. He didn’t ask how I would like it prepared. Had to ask for a steak knife after they brought the food. Somehow everything on my plate was cold. Mashed potatoes. Cold. Sautéed kale. Cold. Mushroom sauce. Cold. Steak medallions very well done but also somehow cold. Very low quality steak entree for $35. Gfs vegan burger was basically inedible. I understand that this place is gluten free but the “bun” was toasted plantains and it was so hard she couldn’t bite it. She tried to bend it in half and couldn’t break it. Burger itself was chickpeas and flavorless. Her fries were soggy and under cooked. Overall it seems like the place was sideways. Staff was unprofessional and the owner/server was running ragged trying to make up for it. Wanted to like this place but the food and drinks were just not good and the staff seemed overwhelmed.
