Excellent atmosphere! It's one of the top two places to get a true Guinness pour in this town. Food is reasonably priced and excellent. Service at the bar was top shelf and I don't say that often. Check my reviews lol. I will definitely be back and recommend.

I've been going to Hoynes close to 20 years. In the past 6 months, I've been there 7-8 times and the once great food has dropped off considerably. Four or five times the food was REALLY disappointing- fish & chips (oily, batter was like rubber) calamari (undercooked and cool) Irish meatloaf (burned, hard. tiny serving of wilted, overcooked veggies) Won't be back until I hear from others that they are back on track again

Everything was delicious. The Reuben Fritters are worth it! Our waitress was excellent, attentive to our needs but not overly zealous. The location is great and the building itself was very cool.

When we got to the restaurant, they put us in a part of the place that felt hidden away. It was really quiet there and felt cut off from the fun part of the restaurant where the bar is. We asked if we could move to where it was busier, but they said no. The whole thing wasn't great, and I think the restaurant should let people know about this spot before they get seated.

I've never written a long review, but here goes!I was in town for work last night and came in here because of my love for Guinness. Not only was my pour of Guinness incredible, but the service was outstanding! Great prices too for a city bar, I was impressed!It was hopping for a Tuesday night, but I got a seat at the bar. Made conversation with four other patrons for about an hour at the bar, barely even took my phone out. I wish every bar had this kind of atmosphere. People forgot how to interact in lots of places. I hope to return someday!Food was great too!

Kitty Hoynes is a staple downtown syracuse spot to visit.

I got the Irish meatloaf as seen on DDD. It was amazing and the service is excellent. They go out of their way for you. Only complaint was that it was very loud.Vegetarian options: There is an array of meatless dishes as well as salads and soups.
Great spot for family. Great choice of beers and meals, including for kids.Kids always wanna see a game on the TV.

My friend and I decided to try the city to eat. Where we live is mostly Burger king and this type of fast food. Online we saw they accepted reservations for lunch so being it very close to St Patrick's Day we made them for noon. Very easy to do on their website. She loves Reuben's and ordered that with Champ! I ordered the Shepherd's pie. This was very well worth the trip in. She took half her sandwich home because it was huge. The Shepherds Pie was awesome. We were too full to order the desserts but I saw some being delivered to another table. I bet they're amazing. We both said we would love to return again soon. I gave this five stars as they deserved it. Parking was not bad either. I was able to park on the street right in front of it. I just wish the meters weren't there. I'm not good with trying to figure out those requirements. It was really cute in there as well. The server and hostess were very sweet. Thanks for an enjoyable time.
