I love the Westcott Grocery! I probably stop through here a few times a week for little treats and drinks, but my favorite things are all the South Asian/Desi snacks and spices they have! The people who work here are very friendly and it really just feels like a nice neighborhood store.

Nicest store on Westcott Street, has literally everything you would want/need. If you’d prefer hot food, they also have Syracuse Halal Gyro, which has some of the best food in Syracuse!

I stop there to get a soda (diet Pepsi) before I order a falafel sandwich st Halal Gyro. They have incredible sandwiches and bowls. They have hooked me up many times. I really think this place is awesome and they are worth checking out. Seriously....

RED FLAG - FEW of the products in the story have labelled prices. I went to the store on two consecutive days and made the same purchases, and was charged different prices in 48 hours. Do not buy groceries here, only beer, their gyro, and drinks.
I was in the Westcott Grocery recently and the woman ahead of me in line was being extremely rude and insulting to the clerk. Everyone in line was frozen, feeling sympathy for the unfairly maligned clerk, but not wanting to draw the unbalanced woman's attention. I think because of this, I was distracted and left without my change. As I walked down the block, the clerk came running out, yelling to me that I'd forgotten my change! These are good people. If you need a little something- milk, chips, beer, some canned goods- pop in and give them your business. We need people like this in the neighborhood ☺️

Owner stares at you for the entire time you are there. Even though you are a regular and have been coming to the store for decades. Very rude. Doesn't even bother to speak at all. There are NO PRICE TAGS anywhere in the store so you have no idea what you are paying and in order to find out, he has to manually scan each thing. Which he gets instantly angry about having to do. Very, very rude. The store is absurdly expensive. They do not deserve to get ANYONE'S business.
