I've been here between 5 and 10 times, which is about 5 to 10 times too many, and I won't be going back.I'll start with the positive - the bar and waitstaff have always been really great. Friendly, patient, and welcoming. I can't think of a single instance in any of my visits where that wasn't the case. Easily the best part of the restaurant, and they should be commended.Next I'll share the neutral. The food is average at best. It isn't really a BBQ restaurant, I'm not sure why it's called that. There are some basic BBQ style dishes like ribs, but not much different than other casual restaurants that don't call themselves BBQ's. A lot of it mostly tastes like basic pre-made frozen food, similar to what you'd expect from an average fast causal style restaurant like Chili's or something. It's average - not great, but not bad. The prices are also ok. You'll get a decent meal and a decent price in most cases. The restaurant is clean enough but could definitely use some updating and work on the lighting. It feels dark and dank - not the good kind of low lighting in a restaurant. For beer, there isn't a huge selection on tap, but the selections are usually pretty good. Typically something for everyone, which is nice. Finally, I'll share the negative, and the reason why I won't be going back: the owner. He is very friendly toward the customers he knows and is friends with, but acts like he couldn't care less about anyone else. He always seems stressed out, and he takes it out on his staff and the customers in the restaurant, except for those with whom he's friends. On my last visit there, he was extremely rude to my wife. It was to the point that it felt like he went out of his way to be rude. I obviously took exception to his tone toward her, but he refused to talk about it with me - he acts like couldn't be bothered. This guy has very low customer service skills people skills - I say this as someone with almost 20 years of restaurant and food service management. I wouldn't even hire him as a greeter. The place would be a lot better with someone who understands customer service and management in charge.Lastly, and this is just an observation, but has been by experience there. The times that I've seen him be the rudest to customers all involved customers of color. It could be a total coincidence, but there aren't a lot of people of color who visit this restaurant, and the worst examples of customer care by the owner (not the rest of the staff) toward customers have all been toward people of color. This review is a summary of my experience, and that has been my experience.

Ribs were incredibly dry and a little tasteless. Service was good and everyone was pleasant.

First time in the place. Service was typical. Menu somewhat limited. My group all complained the food was very salty. I had a Teriyaki dish and found it too salty. The soup was great, but salty as well. My next visit I will try another dish. If it is as salty, I will not return.

This place is a joke. At rotten steak and got nothing but Anger from the bartender because my food was rotten. I tried to go back and order food from them but apparently they're open till 8:00 p.m. but at 6:00 p.m. they won't accept any kind of orders this is b*******

A cozy neighborhood place in a building that has a big history. A Boston flair in upstate NY. Entertainment on Friday nights, outside seating by the "famous" Quackenkill River. Friendly staff, great bar atmosphere, good BBQ, pizza and specials. Owner Gary "Goose" might be behind the bar or in the kitchen. Discuss Red Sox/Patriots with him and ask if he would make you garlic parmesan wings, rolled in Buffalo sauce.

We stopped by on our way through town and this was a real gem. Super friendly owner and staff and delicious food and beer. Very accommodating for our kid. Was a really wonderful meal.

I would like to rate the place better, and if it was just off the food, I would. But this is the 2nd time I have ordered a 24 cut for my family, driven over to pick it up, and found them with a 12 cut. It's very frustrating. I don't want a free beer at the bar while I wait, while the first half of the pizza gets cold as you make the other half. I want you to start getting my orders right. This is ridiculous. I have less trouble at a McDonald's of them getting my order right, and I EXPECT them to screw it up. 2 times. Once, okay, it's a bad day. Twice, and especially when I was very, very clear about it being a 24 cut, you're incompetent.I shouldn't have to tell the person at the front that I'd like the first half of the pizza to be kept warm while the other half is thrown together in the kitchen. You could tell the difference. One was good, one was bland. It's unfortunate, but from now on I'll be getting my pizza at Giuseppes in Hoosick Falls. They've never gotten it wrong, and we've already begun ordering from them more frequently.

This place has the best pizza in Brunswick, NY. There is no other place in the Troy area that can compete.

The food is absolutely terrible here. Stick to the fried foods, like chicken tenders, and you will probably be ok.This place is not a BBQ restaurant it is simply a bar that serves food. The bar is probably what keeps this place open because it certainly is not the food.

Went here to try something different and was encouraged that they advertised a Memphis Dry Rub BBQ ( Also the saucy Kansas City BBQ if that's your thing) Arrived to a full parking lot so we were pleased that we were able to sit down without waiting at all. There was a 2 man musical group playing which was nice. After being seated and given menus we began to look over the menu- Not too crazy big, so that was good. We waited and waiting for a server to come back to our table. A couple that sat after us, was already enjoying a beverage. After another 5 minutes or more, I went and asked one of the waitresses, if they had a beer/drink menu and if there was a waitress for our table. She apologized said they were nuts, and she would send someone over. The beer menu for drafts was written on a chalk board at the bar, and they "had the usually beers" A server came over, we asked what beers they had, and she could remember Stell, Miller Lite and Budlight- We ordered beers and our dinner at the same time, because we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. Apps first- I ordered steamers that were good. My companion ordered nachos, which had plenty of chips, but the cheese was found only on the top layer of a small portion in the middle of the pile under the quac and sour cream. Was disappointing that the cheese did not venture from that area, and the chicken was almost non existent. What portion had the cheese and the other ingredients was good, but spreading the cheese across more of the plate and more than one layer would have been appreciated. Entree: Memphis 1/2 rack with corn muffin, coleslaw and sweet potato fries. Rub had a good flavor, ribs were hot but overcooked and dried out. Coleslaw was tasty, corn bread could have used a pat of butter, sweet potato fries were to limp for my taste. Though that was on me, I know they aren't' as prone to being crisp without me asking for well done or crispy. Companion- Kansas City ribs (1/2 rack) and Cajun chicken, mashed potato and rice. He liked the ribs good enough( not commenting to much on this) potatoes were "chunky" like he likes and no review on the chicken or rice as it wasn't touched. Waitress came over a couple of times while we were eating to check in on us, but never came around after finishing our meal. We waited 15 -20 minutes listening to music, but the band ended promptly at 9. Again I went in search of someone to give us a to go container for the uneaten chicken and rice, and our check. Over all, the food would not bring me back, and the service has some work to do. Though most were young, and I imagine this may be their first job.

We went here on NYE craving ribs and trying to avoid crowds everywhere else. The experience was beyond our expectations: we're familiar with their ribs, and the pink sause is the best! Live music provided a really lovely atmosphere for a cold night. the back room was almost empty, but you can still hear the music, which we enjoyed. The front room was packed, with people at the bar, some danced to the live band. It was so lovely. And when we decided to have a drink too, but non-alcoholic, they mixed something new for us. Here is the picture of the Cherry lime mocktail. Great service and food!

Make sure you check the menu if you haven't been there in a while they have cut it down significantly. It's mostly barbecue and burgers with a few entrees now. The waitress was very nice but pushed us out the door. Even though they had empty tables. She brought boxes before we asked then brought the check like 3 minutes after that even though we said we still needed some time.Ended up being about $30 a person food was decent but not great.

Was an Awesome place, food was amazing . Since Becky left it went down a deep well. Either they changed ownership or a new cook, but we went tonight as we thought they had the best chowder and other foods previously. Nope not anymore. Staff was fine but food NOT. Will not go back
