Wanted to love it. First ones in the door and ordered. Out of several things. 55 minutes to get our food. Apparently they had substitute cooks working, food was very oily and greasy. Tasted ok. Likely won't be back. Maybe when the real cook is back it will be better.

We stopped here while driving through, and I was excited to try it based on the various dishes and looking forward to some Latinx cuisine, but left disappointed. Ordered the Ranchero Eggs, and an iced coffee. The coffee had a really metallic taste to it, I ended up drinking none of it after my first sip. My dining companion ordered hot coffee, and over the course of the 1 hr + we were there, was never offered a refill, she eventually walked up to the bar and asked for more coffee herself while we waited for the check. The food was really mild seasoning wise, chorizo hash had no flavor of chorizo, and it took more than 45 minutes for 2 orders of eggs. Besides speaking to a waiter once for coffee and to ask for menus, once to place our order, and once for food delivery, we never saw any food service staff, and it wasn't slammed. I hope we just caught them on *really* off day, because otherwise $40 for mediocre eggs and no service isn't something I recommend. Really disappointed ?

You're going to get a lot of excellent food at a reasonable price in a cozy environment with service that makes you feel like family (good family, not the crazy ones)And they have Bloody Marys. What more to ask for?

This cute cafe may only be open for 12 hours a week but it is one-hundred-percent worth it to check out. The food is delicious, the staff are warm and friendly, they make their own craft sodas, and quite frankly parking isn't nearly as bad as you'd expected to be for that part of Troy. The seating is limited, so you want to go earlier rather than later, but it's lovely to go.

I really loved everything about this place, it felt very homie and inviting.I sat at the bar by myself and Paula was super nice and helpful, she was training a young man and he was also very pleasant. One of the cooks came out to get himself water and asked how I liked my sandwich, he was very nice and I think it says a lot about restaurant management when the back of the house feels comfortable talking with guests :)Food was also very good! I'll definitely be coming back as often as I can!

Love Carmen's! This is our second time dining here and they do not disappoint. We come 3,000 miles from Los Angeles to visit our son in Troy, and make a point to dine at Carmen's. There are A LOT of good eateries in L. A. but nothing beats Carmen's! I recommend the Ricardo omelette & roasted brussels sprouts. My kids recommend the tostada & cubano. The coffee hits the spot! Eat at Carmen's?? Thank you for exceptional service, Carmen!

Now I normally don’t leave any reviews but by word of mouth I was told about Carmen’s. We got there it was busy so we expected a little wait. We waited an hour and 30 minutes, our food was horrible. The service was great but the cook is absolutely horrible. I would not recommend eating here.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in the capital district and perhaps NY State! Always fresh and delicious ingredients in their food. Carmen, Jim, and their staff take the time make to create a dining experience second to none!! Everyone is extremely personable and friendly too. I love this place!!!
