Even though we were really looking forward to our first visit to Tavolo - it was a little disappointing.The service was good (not great) and it’s a pleasant vibe - we sat outdoors - but the traffic along Genesee St takes away from the overall experience. My feeling is that at a higher end restaurant service should be near perfect and the food should be mind blowingly good, which was not the case on either count.We shared their Utica style greens (our server told us that they’re the inventor of that dish) and were super happy. Great flavor, nice spice and kick, as expected.Our meals weren’t as good as we would have hoped. I had their NY strip steak and it was grizzly, although flavored properly. My wife had their shrimp and salmon meal and while she said the shrimp was really good; she also thought the salmon was lacking overall.It could be we caught them on a bad night - it happens. But in the overall it was less than expected compared to what we had hoped for. Perhaps another visit will be better.

I rarely give a place all 5 stars, but Chesterfield's earned it. Everything we had was delicious: lasagna, Tuscan chicken and filet, gorgonzola penne. The dessert was on point too: warm toffee butter cake. Our servers were pleasant and super attentive.The only downside is that I'm from out of town and may never have a chance to go again... ?

My wife and I were in town for the Women’s World Championships. After a day at the rink we wanted a quick bite and a drink. The hours online said that Tavolo closed at 10 so we were headed to Delmonacos which was open til 11. As we passed Tavolo, the hours on the door said open til 11. Since it was 9:40 we went in. We chose to sit at the bar. The bartender quickly took our drink order and got our drinks. But rather than asking if we wanted to see a food menu or even running a tab, she immediately told us the cost of our drinks.The people next to us had food delivered to them and each time they ordered something, a slip was put in a glass updating the total. So I can’t speak to the food quality because we weren’t given that option and the bartender seemed to only be interested in getting us out of there as quickly as possible. Do yourself a favor and walk 20 feet more to Delmonacos.

Great atmosphere and great food. Stopped in for my wife’a birthday and had a great dinner with friends. The waiter was friendly and the menu is large enough to ensure everyone got what they want. Don’t miss out on the peanut butter cake!

The travolo was able to accommodate our large 15 person family group . Food was delicious and served hot and quick. Waiter was abrupt, slow and seemed unhappy to be serving us.

We went there years ago and there were a lot of mix-ups, good food but again a lot of mix-ups. Went there for lunch with my wife and got purses in a cream sauce. And Utica greens and a Sicilian appetizer platter. Very good. I would definitely go back.

This was my first time at Tavolo's. The presentation of the food was beautiful. The chicken was tender and moist and or server alexia was excellent. Thank you for a wonderful meal and wonderful experience.
Awesome right from the start! Our table was ready and waiting based on our special needs request. Although they were very busy, multiple servers stopped by regularly to make sure our needs were being met. The food was well proportioned, hot and tasted great. An accident occurred with one of the crew members where multiple dishes fell to the floor. It was nice to witness how multiple team members, including the manager, immediately converged to help with the clean up. We felt welcomed, enjoyed our meal and will certainly return.

There is a nice variety to the menu items without being overwhelming. The food was delicious. We had the meatball appetizer and shared a pizza. We also shared a cannoli for dessert. We made a reservation and did not have to wait to be seated. The restaurant is clean and well maintained... including the restrooms. It was a little chilly. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. I would highly recommend!

Great food and service! Our waitress was very accommodating and our food from appetizers to desserts was brought to our table quickly. Great portions and I now have a new love of pesto rigatoni! Definitely worth visiting!
