Voorheesville is a great place to railfan, and what’s better? There’s a diner right next to the tracks called Gracie’s Kitchen that serves great food, my favorite is the Eggs Benedict. You can also watch the trains pass by while you’re eating! Everyone is friendly and they even let you use your scanner if you keep it on a low volume.

We love Gracie's!! We come once a week at least. My personal favorite is a scramble with pulled pork! So many flavors! And Gracie and staff are always accommodating and so sweet! Highly recommend!

Like their food. They have dinners on Friday nights. I think it's an Irish menu.

Good food at a good price and excellent service.

Stopped here on our way home from Thatcher Park. The decor is very nice and the service was great. Sadly, the food was borderline inedible. My 10 year old daughter order pancakes she described as “sour” and she was spot on. My 12 year old son had sausage gravy that he described as “tasting like cows smell”. I had it on my eggs Benedict and he wasn’t lying. With 4 adults and 2 kids no one finished their meal and the kids ate nothing. We saw another table of people also leave a lot of food on their plates as well.

Farmers omelet was awesome! Big chunks of sauteed onion and pepper. Service was great and fast plus reasonably priced. Definitely going back!

OK, tried it twice and not thrilled but so very hopeful for evolution of this local place. Great building and parking, great interior - clean and neat and new. Food is reasonably solid but weirdly disappointing. Examples: food is cold when should be hot, and strange limits from unknown causes seem to be imposed behind the scenes. Owner is, I think, a champion competition bbq guy, but the brisket hash was terrible. Does not seem out of reach to make that good or take it off the menu. Maybe there's just too much on the menu? Maybe they can't find consistent staff? Maybe the cooks can't taste food but they needed a temporary gig between deployments overseas? Probably all of the above plus more. How can we fix this? My advice? Simplify. A good burger. A good chicken sando. Eggs, homefries, coffee and bacon. Toast. Warm eggs and F'ing toast. Keep it simple, cheap and easy. You have the location, you have the building. Now make the food better. I'll try it again and update this review if you can get it together.

May we will try again in the future but not anytime soon. Best of luck working out the kinks. We love to support local business but this one needs some help. This was such a cute restaurant that you wouldnt expect to find where it is! It was recently rebuilt so everything looks super updated and new. My son loved being able to watch the freight trains pass through. I would try everything on this menu..there were so many delicious sounding choices from salads to specialty breakfasts...sanwichies burgers n milkshakes too! Our server was super friendly and the food was brought out to us promptly. The mac n cheese was amazing! I would definetely recommend trying this restaurant n will certainly be returning in the near future!!

Just visited today with exception of the potatoes the breakfast was very good. Nice ambience in a quaint town. Visit while cycling or hiking the Albany to Helderburg rail trail.

Worst place i have ever ate in the voorheesville area. Gracie cracks under pressure of a group of tables being sat close in time. when things get hectic she yells at her employees while they are trying to help her with orders as i overheard her from the restaurant being so small inside, she is like a kitchen soup nazi!!!! She does not properly train most of her new servers! She charges insane prices for food that comes in low quality and sysco looking packaging! you are not getting fresh fruit on your pancakes or french toast, you are getting charged $2+ for coffee or juice you are better off getting water with NO lemon because the lemons aren't even fresh. She is cheap with the amount of butter you get with your toast and pancakes. cheap portion sizes. The portions on the plates are minuscule, you get ONE piece of toast and a dime sized amount of butter. The fruit salad side comes out of fruit from sam's club in a plastic jar it is NOT fresh. Would not recommend to anyone unless you want the person to get over priced small portions of food. When i go to a diner i want to leave paying the prices customers would with a to go box with leftovers still and knowing they arent eating CRAP out of cans. watched her get really snippy at an employee behind in the kitchen for trying to explain an order i had just ordered.

My friend an I checked this place out despite the horrible reviews. We were so glad we did! What a gem, with delish omlets! The ambiance is very nice, staff super welcoming, and priced just right! We both ate omlets with fruit. The omlet was fluffy and fresh. Fruit as a side instead of toast at no extra charge was a lovely accommodation. We will be back!

Food was ok. My kids pancakes tasted off...everyone at table agreed. Waiter asked owner if he could take off bill ($5.95) and was told no. Won't be returning.

Gracie's is the bestest but they won't let me in cause I eat too much..

It's new. The staff is learning the ropes. They didn't get my or my wife's orders exactly right missing extra fruit on our French toast. The bill did reflect what we actually received except they forgot to charge me for tea...which we had amended. Food was good. A clean well lit place with charm.

The place is very cute and very well done, however the food arrived cold, the waitress although nice has not been trained at ALL, we waited at least 15 min to get waited on and they were not that busy and after placing our food and drink order we got drinks after a good 15 min more, and then food after about 20 min. It was way too long for toast and eggs! Very cute restaurant but disappointing on the wait time, lack of training (never checked back with us) and food. Thought about trying some goodies from their case but why bother with that experience. I hope they get it figured out.

First, the positive - decor and food was very good. Lunch for two was $39.00. A small cup of soup cost $5.99. Next vist will be water to drink, and no soup.

Horrible service. Understaffed and really need help managing. I've been there several times and the service has always lacked a bit. Eggs extremely over cooked and I sent back, which I never do. After having been there several time, we won't return.

Waited 15 minutes and nobody acknowledged our presence. Only one table had food so things weren’t looking good for our chances of eating anytime soon, we left.

Decent food for Voorheesville. Typical diner atmosphere. Overall a dive spot for grub.

Visiting from out of town... Enjoyed a nice relaxing breakfast with my son and daughter-in-law. Good food, great service and friendly atmosphere!

Me and my son just ate here and the service was friendly and the food was good. He got 2 scrambled eggs and bacon. I got the poached eggs over biscuits with sausage gravy. Very good!

I live in Voorheesville and waited for Gracie's Kitchen to work out all of the kinks before trying it. The reviews are still on the fence, and I agree with the poor ones. We went during a slow time and yet it was still a long wait for each step. The french toast was good, but my side dish and my friends entire meal was terrible. Items were forgotten, not a surprise since the order was never written down. That paired with the slow and unfriendly service, high prices, and dirty table cloth means I will not be returning unless the reviews improve.

Such a wonderful surprise! The new diner is clean and bright. The menu is extensive considering that they only serve breakfast and lunch. We had breakfast. Eggs and bacon for me..cooked to order. Husband had brisket hash and eggs. We were planning our next order as we sat there. Katina was divine.

Live around the corner. Could not wait for this place to open up. First time there New Year’s Day 10:45. No greeting, table was dirty, waiting 15 for some to acknowledge us sitting right by the cash register. 3 waitresses walk by us 4 times without offering a water or coffee. Finally someone ask if we want coffee and gives us menu. Looked at prices got up and walked out!!!

Richard Seppa

I had a fantastic breakfast there on Friday morning and Katina (wait staff) suggested the brisket hash and eggs. Yum. Will certainly go back for the food and pleasant conversation with Katina.

Very good food, nice atmosphere and friendly service. Glad to have a functional diner back in Voorhheesville!

Ordered the roast beef sandwich for lunch. It was great, highly recommend. Great people.

Visited for lunch and it was wayyyy over priced. 1 Mac and cheese dish which wasnt that big was 9 dollars. Smh. Service was awful. They came to check on us once in the 2 hours we were there. And didnt get our food until we had already been sitting for an hour.

Bonnie Ochsner

was there today 2/21/19 with a group of friends (15) and it was very good. Tastefully decorated. Nice wait staff, good food/generous menu, excellent desert. Plan to go again soon.

A group of people from my Apartment complex went to Gracies for our monthly luncheon! We had such a great time, the food and the service were excellent! It's a really nice little spot and I look forward too going back again, next time for the meatloaf and gravy which looked yummy! I absolutely recommend Gracies Kitchen

It's a very upsetting place to eat. You don't get what you , want most of the food come out of a box ,comes cold ,they lie to you and they are way overpriced. I don't mind paying for quality, but that place is ridiculous. All of this is unfortunate because my wife and I were looking for a place to go on Sundays after church. The two of us spent with tip 35 bucks and left hungry feeling like disappointed.

At 9 am we found a half occupied, clean, new restaurant with plenty of parking. Way better than gas station coffee with continuous refills by an attentive, hospitable server. Egg sandwiches served quickly were above par.

We want to love this place, but we aren't there yet. We have been three times, and have been waiting for the kinks to be worked out. Food hasn't been hot and you don't get a full plate of food for the prices being charged. Gracie does her best to get to every table to say hello, which is a really nice touch, but if you're floating and greeting and the only one on register, you need one or two more staff on tables and kitchen. The kitchen was miserably slow all three times we ate there. We are trying to be patient because they've built a beautiful restaurant and have to get everything going in the same direction, but we really we're hoping for better quality food given the prices.
