Excellent food, friendly staff and great drinks. At the bar or in a booth you'll get great service and delicious food at fair prices. Burgers, wings, salads & sandwiches all solid.

Went there for a birthday dinner. Ambiance was okay, service was passable, however the beef burger was absolutely terrible... I've never eaten shoe leather, but I imagine it's quite similar to the texture of this burger!!! Imagine a hamburger that you have difficulty cutting with a knife... That's the one you're getting if you order it here! Won't be returning EVER!!!

My wife and I have been here several times before, but tonight was one of the worst restaurant experiences we ever had. We were initially quoted a wait time for a table of 15-20 minutes and were not seated until 55 minutes later. After we were seated, it was about 15 minutes before a waitress took our order. It then took forever to get our appetizer and entrees. Additionally, our appetizer was overcooked and our entrees were overcooked and cold.

We went there after the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Wantagh. The streets were closed but we drove around and parked blocks away from the restaurant because the police had every block baraccaded because of the pedestrians walking everywhere. We walked into the restaurant in the back. I needed the bathroom right away there was a wait but the ladies room was very clean . My guy friend waited for a table and was seated quickly to our surprise we got a nice booth. We ordered the corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes. It was very good. Corned beef was pretty lean and sliced thin. Cabbage was tasty and carrots too. Red potatoes were nice but could've been cooked a bit more. Food could've been warmer but it was cold. I didnt send it back because the place was packed solid so I was thinking they were trying to get food out to people as fast as they could. I'd definitely go back there again. My guy friends son had a cheeseburger and fries and it looked excellent. We ordered takeout chicken tenders and fries and they looked great as well. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The seating and restaurant was clean and decorative with St. Patty's decorations, There were TVs mounted high enough that you could see the game on.

a well laid out Pub, great bar, very good food and drink. Every sport being played on TV, even from a booth. Service excellent and prices ala Biden amble parking. . The only minus for me is they charged to use credit cards. This is an upscale Irish Pub more class should be shown.

Shoutout to Amy who went above and beyond to accommodate me today! I needed pics of my son whose name is Jameson and is having a Jameson themed Bar Mitzvah. We wanted a real Irish pub feeling for his portraits. The ambience, beautiful stone walls and awesome Jameson barrels at The Poet was perfect!Thank you so much Amy for allowing and helping us to make this happen. I know the pics will come out amazing and will be perfect hanging on the wall of his party. Amy you are a star!! I can't wait to come back with the family for a real meal...the take out I left with was amazing!

Way way too loud, strikes. Me as your typical pick up bar, typical pub food! Not a fan of the French onion soup, although the owner/manager is very nice and accommodating, it's ok for a quick in and out appetizers, I wouldn't have dinner there though!

Came here with some friends for a little birthday lunch and drinks. We sat at the bar which was surprisingly busy for an early Monday afternoon but the bartender Geraldine was friendly and attentive. I had a couple of Tom Collins to drink and a shot of tequila. My friends and I split the Irish potato jackets-which were like potato skins, the buffalo quesadilla-which was a special and the poutine. All of the food was very tasty and the portion sizes were pretty big. The fries were so crispy and not greasy and the potato skins were not heavy at all. It was a great time!

All of our food was delicious! We all enjoyed every bite! The service was amazing THANK YOU RYAN! The watermelon Cosmo is so good! The place is beautiful and comfy, great for family or friends to have a nice meal. I want to go back to try the other appetizers! Seriously if you are looking for a cool Pub, you found it! Great drinks, great food, great service!

Very disappointed. I have been here several times and I have to say I have seen a decline in the quality of the food. The atmosphere is great and the service is friendly and attentive but that's where the good stuff ends. I was there the other night with my family and my son got the pizza with fries.... It's not fresh pizza ..... it was a small garbage frozen pizza and when he bit into it he made a face and said dad I'm not eating this it's terrible and cold.... I felt it and it seemed warm but when I bit into it the center was cold... tells me the chef has no idea what he/she is doing and threw the frozen pizza into a very hot oven and it didn't cook through. I got meat loaf it was a not so special ..... so dry. I ate it because I already sent the pizza back. Then my daughter turns to me and says the pasta is terrible (serves her right for getting past at an Irish place - but it is on the menu). So I tried it and I had to agree with her the sauce was a little better than ketchup..... wasn't a good night. There was no management there and I gotta say it was dead (Tuesday night). So either the chef is horrible or I just got the B-team in the kitchen since it was slow.... My son got the pizza in the past and it was good so they obviously made some bad changes. The bar tender (since there was no manager) tried to offer me a voucher and I turned it down..... I paid my bill and tipped appropriately before I went to complain .... I don't complain to get things taken off my bill. When I go out and pay I want quality food (not being served here) and don't want to go out and waste my time which is what happened here.... Irish Poet.... Be Better. BTW - I sent the pizza back and asked my waitress to bring it to the chef to eat because it's garbage. First time I ever did that. I never send food back
