This place is the perfect balance of castles and giant guns. Apparently, there’s also a school nearby that has a purpose-built tunnel specifically for beating sailors. While I don’t understand the academic application of such a tunnel, I whole-heartedly approve of its premise.
The First Class Club, which is mainly known as The Firstie by cadets, is a great place to grab dinner and drinks if you're ever able to make it to West Point (though you have to get on post to come here). My sister who's now a former cadet (just graduated) loved coming here on weekends to hang out with friends and I'm sure she will miss this place. Situated in an old ammunition depot, the recently renovated first class, or "firstie", club has a much more exclusive and bespoke feeling than the days of yore.
