As a solo diner, I was able to get a table without a reservation on Saturday night.I personally would not come back to this place because of how horrible the sushi rice was.If you were to come here, I would personally stick with the appetizers and sashimi. The quality of fish was okay; however, I could get fresher fish in Arizona... and the appetizers were decent.I tried the Tai Sushi and Chirashi, but the rice was horrible...Appetizers Ordered:1) Ankimo2) Raw Octopus3) Age Dashi Tofu4) Veggie TempuraI spent around $170 (pre-tip) for dinner myself.

here you will find unassuming decor and fantastic quality fish.not your typical strip mall sushi joint. Taka offers Tokyo level quality sushi; authentic, fresh, minimalistic. well worth a 45 min drive. try the omakase. i have been coming here for over 7 years and have never been disappointed.

Beautiful restaurant. Reservations are recommended. Their nagiri and sashimi is excellent, some of the best I've had on LI. I tried the salmon avocado roll, spicy tuna roll, and special dragon roll. The rolls were good as well. The "special dragon roll' -- it was good but seemed like a basic eel and avocado roll but with avocado on top. It may have been the same size as the basic eel and avocado roll. The miso soup is also good - it doesn't have any msg.Beautiful restaurant and talented chefs. It's certainly one of the better sushi places on LI. It was a good experience overall and I'll be visiting again.

We came here from 65~ miles away for a field trip in order to experience the most traditional authentic sushi and other Japanese cuisine. What a feast! Taka-san and his team welcomed us as we were their house guests and gave us samples of all different kinds of sushi, as he was informing us about each fish. He was also very nice to share some of his reserve sake collection. If you want REAL sushi, this is the only place to go on Long Island! Period. Arigatou Taka-San!
Authentic high quality sushi. Omakase is the way to go. I love the specials which are changing by the season. The dessert flan brings me back to childhood.
