Disappointing. I used to go here years ago when I worked in the area. Now it's expensive and just average.

This is the best breakfast and lunch place in Syosset. The food is delicious (bacon, egg and cheese for breakfast and Philly cheese steak and the best chicken salad sandwich for lunch). Plus the atmosphere is so sunny and nice. Love this place

Stay away!!! Extremely overpriced and rude staff. You'll be lucky if your order is correct. (For example, one time i ordered a sandwhich on a hero. When picking up, I decided to open the bag to double check and noticed they gave me the sandwhich on a small roll but yet charged me the Hero price. When i inquired, the cook came out from kitchen and scolded me saying they had no hero's left and that I should take it as is. One of the most rude workers i've ever seen.

A much better option for quality in the area than other closeby places that serve deli style and certainly more coordinated. I stopped in with a neighbor fora breakfast sandwich and a coffee and everything was very very good. Not sure what the logic is to pay after getting your food and eating but seems like it would be better to pay when you order. Either way the help is friendly and efficient and the sandwiches were good. Very good seating options inside and some picnic tables outside as well. Very relaxing atmosphere and although prices are somewhat high, the food was good.

The roast beef was some pink with veins throughout the beef that was stringy. Also had the end cut in it and made the sandwich dry. then to add insult, the mayo was like a smear so it was really dry. Shredded lettuce was best part. ? I asked for it on hero and the bread was very basic maybe not the freshest. Paid 15.00 and wouldn't have minded if it didn't taste so bad.

I'm sad to leave a three star review for Dugan's. Lately I feel like they've been slacking after all the years I've been coming here. I did an online order here on Saturday after I finished a race in the city, i got the confirmation text and email only to find 30 minutes later they never even started the order. The problem was that they didn't have their tablets on. Ordering online is out of convenience but this was pretty inconvenient for me. The food was great- we got two breakfast platters with eggs and bacon, eggs and sausage, and then a pancake platter. I had to ask for the coffee and tea that came with the first two which they only gave me the coffee. I also paid for orange juice for the pancakes and had to also ask for that. I felt annoying asking for the things I paid for... only to find a hair in one of the breakfast platters. We sat down at a table, mind you this was 11am, and the table was dirty. Was pretty disappointed and next time might just head across the street to the diner.

They’re sandwiches are good but the cashier Joe is rude. They mess up my order for almost every time I called. Had me on hold both times I called. When I got there my food was ready. Joe that rude cashier looked at my sandwiches and told me they weren’t even though they were wrapped up and ready to go. 20 min later someone else walked to the sandwiches and gave them to me, I was furious because I was standing there 20 min and the food was ready from the moment I walked in. I addressed Joe about it and he gave a sarcastic apology and shrugged it off. I am never going back here.

The food was solid, the service was friendly, but the issue is the pricing. I can get the same quality or better food at others places in the area for less.

Have not been here in years.. a Woodbury classic original farmhouse styled luncheonette if their could be one... with everything built up around it. What's changed... not a Dugan running it anymore.... they are the Landlords to the new owner. Dugan's sold to their worker - a guy with the tattoos years back who had been there forever.. or 15 years.. then he sold to another employee, the current own who has been their 14 years. What is the same? Homemade white bread for a perfect tuna sandwich. What changed.. Uhm... hm.. The American hero was too much some kind of ham and horridly dressed with spicy mustard. I called to tell them not ordered that way (didn't say not edible for this LI'er) ... this is not the South or PA!.. Lol.. That's how they make it I was told. Ok I said.. Ok bye he said and hung up. LOL Not quite Dugan's. Ok well I pulled out the inside and gave to my doggie... and tossed the rest. This my friend is not exactly how it was back then. I love this place then and now I would still return to enjoy the tables and nostalgia for a relaxing quick tableside bite. Would bet you their egg sandwiches are still good also. But have yet to retry. Watch out for the cook added spicy mustard!
